That had to be one of the BEST 3d trek sequences by one artist I've EVER seen. The particle effects are excellent! Film Quality CGI work!

Wow...I never seem to be able to get my stuff to look that good. I especially liked that lava planet in the begining. I have been trying to achieve a similar effect, with the surface explosions, but have not been happy yet. By any chance, do you know of, or could I convince you to write maybe, a good tutorial for creating and compositing the layers to achieve that effect?
Were those explosion rings on that planet stock footage, or effects? They were really nice.

I'm WAY late commenting on this (I've only just joined and somebody is sure to scream, NECROPOST!) but wow! So impressive!

Was this UNIVERSE project ever completed does anybody know?

Marty is one of the best I know of off and even used one of my meshes in the demo .. which is kinda cool ..:)

I know he used one of my models in one of his animations .. a character in the EVAsuit ..but its not this one..... I have to see if Odin will post it here some time :)

but it is incredible animation

How the HELL did I ever miss this thread? Now THAT was some sweet animation! I'd love to have the full size MPG instead of looking at a Flash version.

That coming out of warp in the asteroid field was AWESOME!
