Newbee ART. Taranis

Hello modelers and artist of 3D Gladiators. My handle is Taranis and I am a member
of Colonial Fleets and a member here formerly known as potemkin. But I never posted anything. Recently I was able to buy LIGHTWAVE 8 and am still getting use to it abilitys. With help from Warrior and Titon  .

I have a number of renders posted there and decided to post them here. Some of you will see you own hard work and fantastic models. I hope I have done then some justice. From Star Trek Star Wars and of course BSG.

Nice pics, Taranis. I particularly like the Star Wars ones myself.

gmd3d June 1st, 2005 02:12 PM

Thanks General Phoenix, Thay are the latest ones . all I need know is models in LW of Han and Chewie to add the The Falcon Cockpit and I am a happy camper.. I have yet to understand the rigging controls yet.

General Phoenix June 1st, 2005 03:44 PM

Feel free to upload these to the Gallery, too.

I have some old pics from the 3DG archives I need to put up there myself...

Titon June 1st, 2005 04:47 PM

Keep it up!

I will do that.. I am still studying the video lessions before I start building my first mesh.. The ship in the LENSMEN cartoon. But I need to down load some more lessions from KURV studios. :bounce:

Taranis modeling is my passion. I prefer that to texturing and animating by leaps and bounds.

Someday i may actually put it all together.

:D

gmd3d June 2nd, 2005 04:16 AM

I have yet to go anywhere near the Texturing and animation. But I would like to learn how to add character to Sean's Falcon cockpit model

skyhawk223 June 2nd, 2005 05:46 AM

Ahh yes, texturing and animation. Good luck!
I like the 1701 shot myself. Nice scene.

Great artwork. If you think of yourself as a newbie, then I have no chance of ever getting anything as good. Keep up the good work( and make the rest of us feel like a left-handed money banging on a rock).

spade1950 July 9th, 2005 01:40 PM

Nice imaging, did you do any post work?

Rippers_Garage July 29th, 2005 06:34 AM

Re: Newbee ART. Taranis

Its a funny thing finding old artwork .. and looking back to where I started ..

When I first started to use Lightwave I could hardly model a box.. and that comes ready made :)

the thing about these are the great models and ok lighting from me .. and it just ok .. not great ..

some of the images at the start of this thread I have just added to the Gallery
after a delay of er a few years .. since June 1st, 2005. nearly 4 years ..

Re: Newbee ART. Taranis

The lighting and ship detail were impressive to me.

Re: Newbee ART. Taranis

And this thread came in handy. The image of the Enterprise in Spacedock with all the little utility vehicles and Miranda-class helped me fix your thumbnail problem in the gallery. :) I love that image, BTW, it has a great STIII through STVI feel to it. :D
