Star Trek Shields

Here is an attempt at making some Star Trek style shields...

Korvar July 21st, 2005 01:31 PM

And, on the other side, phasers

scaramanga July 22nd, 2005 12:01 AM

looks good to me, you might want to put some AA on that scene to make it look smoother :)

Korvar July 22nd, 2005 12:06 AM

Yeah, you're right :) That's the preliminary "Do you guys like it, should I do the Real Long Render Version?" I showed to the guys in the Fan Film I'm working on.

I did do a RLRV... but appear to have mislaid it :)

scaramanga July 22nd, 2005 03:22 AM

aha fan film!
link me !

Korvar July 22nd, 2005 06:42 AM

It's supposed to be in my signature, but that's not showing up...

Intrepid Fan Film Site

Now my sig shows! :D

scaramanga July 22nd, 2005 08:46 AM

Ah I know this one, been looking forward to ti for quite a while now :D

Devil103 July 30th, 2005 12:04 AM

Nicely done, that would work very well in the Intrepid series, I imagine that's the reason you made it?

Korvar July 30th, 2005 12:50 AM

Yep. It's even in the trailer :)

General Phoenix August 1st, 2005 09:54 PM

*grrrrrr*

I can't play the clips for some reason. Any special codec used for those?

Korvar August 2nd, 2005 12:35 AM

It's just good o' DivX 5.2.1

RJ Andron August 4th, 2005 06:02 PM

The Shields look very good. I would suggest reducing the size of the lens flare on the emitter array and adding a solid white core to the phaser being shot from the vessel to really emphasize the heat and power of the weapon.

Devil103 August 6th, 2005 01:49 PM

Will the Intrepid episodes be available for download like some of the other fan series?

operaghost August 18th, 2005 09:30 PM

the shield effect looks terrific as does the ship. Top notch stuff. I hope to get to that level at some point. I'm just starting out with 3D and it blows me away with what people come up with.

chooch99 August 29th, 2005 03:55 AM

very nice. is it just me, or has the concept of "energy shields"in sci fi, always seemed oxymoronic? you would think the key to defending energy attacks is in reflecting tools in the hull plating

Porthos August 31st, 2005 01:06 PM

Cool! 8)

Nice work! :) Wish I had talents like you for doin´my Fan-Movie....

underdog December 22nd, 2005 08:15 AM

OK, this is silly. some folks reply "nice work" etc.. and some folks (like me) get a 404. what the heck?

Is this a dns issue? some sort of routing issue? I tried it in firefox and in i.e. and neither browser worked..

I wonder why some people can see this "nice work" etc.. and some folks (like me) are left out in the cold. :(

Lowlands January 6th, 2006 01:18 PM
