Looking for Poser 5 or 6 Movie uniforms
 

Hi there!

It's been some time, reallife caught me again. ;)

This time I'd like to ask you, where I can find some good Star Trek 2-6 Movie style uniforms for men and/or woman? Poser 5 or 6 models would be great. Yeah, I know here at 3DG is a movie uniform, but that thing is still resisting to be accepted by my poser *d'oh* btw: the female TOS uniform too, it also lacks a readme....

So your help would be realy apprechiated!

I've seen some TOS and TNG uniform's over there, but no movie uniforms...

I've found just about every uniform, yet never found those. Maybe I should do a Tut and make em.

Yeah, but that thing isn't realy working for 5 or 6.....

What differences are there in the files between 4, 5 and 6?

What problem did you have with the P4 Movie uniform? (am wondering if it is the PCF file you were unable to convert?)

The problem with Poser 5/6 is, that Poser 4 clothes don't realy fit. I've tried the TOS shirt, but there are some problems with the neck, it's too big to fit in the shirt...

As for the movie-era uniform: I'm not realy shure, objmover seems to work, I copied the files into the folders but Poser can't find them...

Re: The TOS shirt- That was with the Poser 4 dude? Cuz that's who it's designed to fit.

Movie Uniform- Do a Hard Drive search and find where it went. It may not have been "created" in the proper folder :)

Re TOS-Shirt: It work's very well with the Poser 4 Dude, but I wanted to explain you with this example that there are some "anatomical" differences between Poser 4 and Poser 5 dudes...

Re Movie Shirt:It *is* in my geometries/trek-folder, where my other trek stuff (which is working) is. But it's not shown in the program. :(

Open the CR2 file and see where it's pointing to in looking for the file.

I don't have Poser 5... is that "Mike" that came with P5?

Well, the cr2 file is looking in figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:Trek:trek_movie.obj, so I guess there isn't the flaw...

I've tried to import the shirt via import/wavefront *.obj which isn't realy working eather, cause I can't conform it to a Poser 4 dude and it seems that the textures are gone...



BTW: The Poser 5 dude is called "Don", not Mike.

"Don"... ok. So it's not the Mike figure DAZ came out with.

If I had a Don figure or a long sleeve shirt that fits Don, I could make a new TOS shirt for him (and possibly the movie jacket). Would need it for the female too.

Reason being is the way its cut, which makes it posable on particular figures. That's why P4 clothing doesn't work on Mike or Vickie, etc.

Well, I've got Mike and Vikie from Daz...It would be very nice if you would do some movie jackets for them.

Great. :) I realy could need some decent uniforms for my Movie-RPG. We're already working on some sets (which can be seen HERE ).

You plan on releasing those interior sets? ;)

I'm afraind that's not up to me. Lennier has a very stickt releasing policy. But since he isn't finished yet....Not to mention it's a 3D Studio Max and it takes right now about an hour each frame, without "any decent textures and lightning".

Hm, is it just me, or do the DAZ-Freebie Vickie and Mike don't have any face morphs?

Warrior, maybe you could do me another favour: Could you put on a poser 4 dude the movie uniform (I guess yours is working), save it and send me that file? I found a small tutorial about converting poser 4 stuff to poser 5 stuff...

You don't have the P4 dude? :eek: I thought P5/6 came with the older models as well as new stuff.

I have,I just thougt it would be easier if you would save the shrt with a dude...

Right - the base models are free, you have to buy the morphs. You can get either head or body morphs or both together at DAZ

Iv got a few in development, but there still like a month out. My 3D program doesnt play well with poser so Iv run into problems.

Hmmm there was a Guy named Bryan that Did some 2-6 Uniforms for poser 4 back around 2000 he and I used to Converse back and forth or our Poser/Bryce/Lightwave 3d to comics projects. but unforunatly i think he move on to bigger and better things. but I think you might be able to find a few of his Freebe's still somewhere. I have check my Data folders i might still have some of his stuff. however most of his stuff was male related.
Sorry that I can't be of more help, but saidly i been searching for movies uniforms too.
and I promise you if i find anything i be the first to tell you.
