Newcomer seeks to flatten learning curve

Because of scheduling, I'd like to learn certain areas faster than I might otherwise in Poser 7. To wit, I want to learn how to make alien morphs, antennae, et cetera before I've barely learned to do more than walk.

I want/need to create Cardassians, Klingons, Andorians . . . and reproduce some of our main characters, in case we need to blow them up and the real-life actors object somewhat. [grin]

Anyone know where there's a good tutorial on animating antennae, or making extreme morphs or anything else that might contribute to my Build An Alien collection? :-)

It depends on what 3d editing program you want to use to create the morphs; if you like lightwave, http://www.angelfire.com/comics/milesbaskettiv/tut.html is a good one to get you started. If 3dmax, look at http://www.harmoniccycle.com/harmoni...ph-Obj2Max.htm, although it's older it'll give you an idea what's involved.

Thanks for the info, Erico! I'm using Lightwave, despite my almost complete lack of familiarity with it, too, because it had the virtue of coming with the VT[4] I'm using.

I also found a fascinating article just minutes ago; I don't know where to post it, so I'll probably post it elsewhere, too. (Forgive me, Adminstrator, for I have inadvertantly spammed . . .)

Anyway, a very inexpensive way of scanning in 3D objects. Requirements: 1 laser pointer. 1 Webcam. 1 free chunk o' software. http://www.cs.tu-bs.de/rob/david.html

Follow directions, stir well.
