well nor have I but after looking at the intro videos its a sweet share .. looks to make things very easy .. and your able to export Poser models and textures (tell you how in the Vids) to Lightwave ..

Now it looks to work in LW7+LW8.. I don't know about higher..

The creator has some videos to download.. for installing it into LW .. VERY HANDY

an other how to convert poser model to LW model with texture intact and eyes workable

its not automatic and you need to work on it ..

one of the things I always wanted was to have character that I can pose with ease and render them in the image .. not so much for animation ..

I will leave that skill in Fretslayer capable hands

Does anyone use these tools? I have LW (Mac) and love it. I see it has been a few years- does anyone have any other suggestions for good LW rigging tools? I would like to give it a try!

Rigging has always been an area I wanted to get into but never did, and as I know use LW9. the free one I had only worked with LW8.

I will ask around and see if I can get you some more info . welcome to 3DG Pixels3d

Rigging. *shudders* I don't know how it is in Lightwave but in trueSpace it sucks. I've tried a few times but couldn't get the hang of it.

I won't try much of anything in free software unless it's Blender. Speaking of which, I wonder how the rigging tools are in Blender. I've dabbled with the program but haven't made it that far yet. (modeling in it is still kicking my butt) I figure rigging is something I'll need to know at some point but it's a joke in my current software (like so many things.)

Thanks Taranis! I am playing around with LW 9 animating. Mostly Star Trek ship related- ships, shuttle craft, etc. No explosions- other than simulated with lens flares at this point. And hypervoxels.

I, uhm (don't tell anyone) use, Poser for human animating.:-) Kidding, but I have had insults flung at me on other boards for such. I don't see anything like that here- it seems a friendly, results based environment.

I have a few LW9 rigged characters that I am starting to play around with and I would like to rig a Yoda character for LW- and Poser.

mikala might have some info for you .. I will point him this was to see if he can give you a good direction to go in.

there is one other but is unavailable at the moment.

Using Poser is great. I don´t use it much myself but there are many here who do.

any insulting is frowned upon here and those that engage in such are encouraged to go else where. its always been that way under all the Mods and Admins here to my knowledge.

But we do like to have some fun and there can be at time friendly banter.

That's just wrong. Insulting people for their choice of software is extremely low and not tolerated on most of the 3D forums I've been on. (not that too many people try it) Were these program-specific boards or something? Some of those can be kind of harsh, which is why I avoid them.

I always say that you use what you have to hand. If you've got LW then you use it. If you have DAZ or Blender then ditto. Al that matters to me is that you use it and you enjoy and it doesn't matter what others think.
