The "beak" is a weapons pod and the twin units that are the "claws" are probably landing gear or grapplers of some kind -- I haven't worked it out entirely, but I figure the Romulan artists are inspired in their painting by the exterior features of the ships and integrate those features into the raptor design.
One might even hypothesize that none of the ships are painted in an identical fashion to any other.
