Looking for a Poser Prop, not sure where to look
Heyas. Looking for a good looking poser/Daz house (preferably 2 story, not a sprawling mega mansion, but nice) that I can use in shots for my books. Free would be best since I have $86 for fudz for the rest of the month lol. I sorta forgot that a lot of little purchases add up to one big purchase, and I got a lot of stuff for CGI work, but I sorta nuked my food budget. Luckily the 99 cent store has decent food so I am not totally borked. But yeah, a free good looking house would go over well right about now Anyone got any ideas? It would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Looking for a Poser Prop, not sure where to look
Have you tried Google? If you type in "Free Poser House" you might get somewhere. That's the best idea I can come up with because I have no idea where to look for things like that.

Re: Looking for a Poser Prop, not sure where to look
Tried both options (Thanks for the suggestions), and even looked at EVERY page on the Daz site from a 'whole site' search for the word 'house' and found nothing I wanted. Nothing free at all I could find, and the pay stuff, nothing that met my needs that I would buy later. Damn I can't wait till after I get cararra so I can start saving for Hexagon lol. Then I can just MAKE the bleeping house I want :P

Re: Looking for a Poser Prop, not sure where to look
I checked Renderosity and I found something that would sorta work, but it's not exactly what I need. No one seems to do Sci-Fi houses lol. Or even Modern houses that aren't 5 million $$ mansions, or hovels.
Here is a screenshot from Star Wars Galaxies of my char standing in front of her house. This is generally what I am looking for, though I would want a bit more in the way of ground floor rooms and no battledroids in the windows
Anyone know where I can find anything like this? Thanks

Re: Looking for a Poser Prop, not sure where to look
Did you know that 3D Artist magazine has Carrara 6.2 for free on its CD? (I think it's even the pro version) It's the full program with no limitations. I saw it at Barnes & Noble the other day but didn't get it because I don't need another 3D program. Anywho, it's $15.99 for the magazine but that's way better than the price of the program, I'm sure.
It's a good thing you said that the image is a screenshot. That explains why the Twi'lek looks like a game mesh.

Re: Looking for a Poser Prop, not sure where to look
I WUBS YOU!!!
I read your post, checked for the nearest Barns and Noble, ran over, and they had one copy of the magazine left with the CD. It's installed, running, and you just saved me so much $$ Short term, I am nailed hard, that was $17 in food money, but long term, I just got $300-$400 software for $17
Now I can get Hexagon if things work out, and be set on CGI software
Thanks so much

Re: Looking for a Poser Prop, not sure where to look
I'm glad the information was useful. I flip through that and 3D World (when they have them in stock) every time I'm in B&N to see if they have anything good on the CD. I guess this time it paid off.

Re: Looking for a Poser Prop, not sure where to look
3D World is where I got my first copy of Bryce3D back around 2,000 and that is what started me down the dark path of CG artist. (insert evil sith sounding music here)
If you are still looking for houses - here you go ---> http://archidom.net/ddd/model_S.htm

Re: Looking for a Poser Prop, not sure where to look
Thanks I thought I had checked all the links you gave me, but I guess not lol. Some cool houses there. Nothing still 'quite right' but some good stuff. I am probably going to cut my teeth on Hexagon by making the house lol. Assuming all goes as hoped and I get it.

Re: Looking for a Poser Prop, not sure where to look
I have a site that has a bunch of ranch style houses but I can't find the link at the moment and I have another 2 hours to go on a render. So you know what that means. LOL!
As soon as I can I'll find the link and post it. Odds are it's pretty close to what you're looking for.
