Email problem

I open Netscape Communicator and it starts retreiving new messages but it gets stuck on the first one. Says downloading 1 of 4 and it stops at 27% everytime...how do I fix this? I can't even get the other messages becuase it just stays at 27%.

What operating system do you have?
