Default DVD 2.5 on sale prematurely!

I stopped by F.Y.E. today and found a very pleasent surprise in the Farscape section. They had a single copy of vol. 2.5, by far the best collection of episodes on any of the Farsacape DVDs.

check out this index.

disc 1
"A Clockwork Nebari"
"Die Me, Dichotomy"

disc 2
"Liars, Guns, and Money" (pt. 1-3)

You'll notice that the episodes are out of order to fit the 3-parter on one disc.

Don't bother looking for it at your nearby Best Buy, it's not suppose to be released until Feb 25th. This has happened in the past, FYE tends to be sloppy about their release of Farscape discs. Several times I've been able to get the discs well before their release date thanks to FYE. But you do pay for it, FYE prices everything at the suggested retail rate.

$40 is a lot to pay for 5 episodes.

The fact FYE is still in business amazes me, considering how uncompetitive it is. However, they are the most well-stocked entertainment store around. You can find things there you can't find anywhere else, especially Best Buy. I no longer trust the internet for purchasing so I will spend more money at F.Y.E. before I spend it on the internet.

To be honest with you, I'm sick of Best Buy slacking off when it comes to Scifi DVDs. Half the time they either don't get them in at all, or skip volumes. Its pissing me off to no end. Its getting to the point where its almost worth the extra $5 to get it from Amazon than frelling Best Buy.

Best Buy only gave me problems midway through the season 1 release on DVD. Best Buy started selling them again after skipping 2 releases and my local store has been stocked with them on the day of the launch ever since.

hmm, farscape dvd's are too expensive.

it'd cost me £24.99 for 4 eps of farscape, compared with £17.99 for 4 eps of eva. although i'd rather buy eva anyway...

plus, what's the deal with those huge boxes? they had these little boxes containing 2 dvds, but each dvd had only 2 eps on it, then they had the large boxes with still only 4 eps on it, except for like £10 more... i know there are extras, but hell, i'm not buying the frelling thing for the extras, i want the episodes.

anyway, in conclusion, my collection of farscape dvd's won't be happening :\

What is eva? Don't tell me, it's a cartoon?!

I've been tremendously pleased with the Farscape releases. By putting only 2 or 3 episoes per disc, they maintain picture quality. I will gladly pay double for superior picture quality. I wish the TNG discs would have followed the same principles, but I suppose nobody would buy them at a really high pricetag.

Neon Genesis Evangelion. Scroll down to where it says "Introduction" and read .

Evangelion is a very unique creation, which made a name even among people who usually do not watch anime.

It's on sale now! However, my local Best Buy did not have it. I checked out to see if they had it when I picked up the first season of DS9 on DVD. Nice set, although I'm not very happy with the picture quality.

So they released the first two volumes with 4 episodes each at the same price that they sold 2 episodes on VHS! it was great! then the next few volumes had 3 episodes... and soon it was down to 2 episodes per volume. But the retail price remained constant.

As a result, I only have the first 3 or 4 volumes on DVD because ADV really made me mad and I already had the whole series on VCD... I could probably get the rest now though, but I'd rather save up for the soon-to-be Farscape Season 3 DVDs which I would probably pay through the nose for

I'm sorry, Anime' doesn't work for me for many reasons and now that I'm a very busy man, the last thing I want to do is spend time watching more TV. This is something that would have had to come along when I was still in High School or College, but now there is no time. I can't imagine ever falling in love with something like Farscape again since my life has hit a totally different pace.

As for v.2.5, I was back at Best Buy today to buy a headset for my computer at work and checked to see if they had the Farscape disc. Looks like my local store is falling behind, I'm glad I didn't wait.

I would really like to know if anybody else is buying the discs in here. It seems I'm the only one. :P

I'm buying the important ones of season 2 because I really can't afford to get the whole season right now. So I've got 2.5 (which I watched all of yesterday )and... whichever volume the Princess trilogy was on.

they are doing something like that here too. although it's only now that they're actually releasing them... i think the number of eps per disc goes 4-4-3-3-3-3, and they seem to be releasing one every two months, so they should finish April of next year...

Arrghy: Princess trilogy is on volume 3...the only season 2 volume I don't have because ****ing best buy is getting lazy.

Mike: I'll be talking to the local manager about their laziness this weekend.
