Above your avatar, it says : The Last Starfighter, do you have any models for that show, Lance Guest was cool in that show, and as for the video game, I wonder how many people wanted that to happen to them.

Second "image" in the header graphic- Look familiar?

My old pal Fabio made a model of the Gunstar. I've been working on mine on and off for... cripes... years now *L*

I dunno if he has it for release on his site or not though.

Another friend of mine made a Kodan ship. I've yet to look at that mesh though.

Bugger, the Gunstar, that ship is awesome. I have to ask, how come I dont see people making space clips on here, I remember a time ago on spacebattles.com people used to make them all the time, then its like the people of then ( 8 years ago or so ) just vanished, or ended up working for themselves and doing more important things, and left the communities.

Are there people here that have made some space scenes etc?

I am so keen to move forward in this, but havent seen anything here from the models of what people have used etc.

Yeah- The Gunstar being built that was mentioned is the one by Fabio *and* the one I am still working on after all these years. (See? Told you it was years... look at the date on that! )

Per your previous post- Way back when, namely a few years ago, 3DG was one of the largest 3D sites on the web. Many *now* famous artists were active artists on these pages, like the previously mentioned Fabio, Lee Stringer, Don "Titon" Bergren, Ed (formerly QuantumSS) "Thor" Giddings, Kier, etc have moved on into the professional fields. They also hung out at the old B5MG site and the earlier SpaceBattles site. Back then, the big 3D sites were kinda close to each other.

One thing to always remember- They had beginnings as well. They weren't born into their current professions. They had to learn, etc too, and I am proud to say I had a hand in it by pushing them to get better, etc, because it was VERY clear their raw talent far surpased my own.

I learned a lot from those guys, and still do.

I have many of their early models (which I won't release without their permission).

Many Foundation Imaging folks came through here as well (many are now at Zoic).

Anyways, with their migration to higher hallowed grounds (AKA pro work), many regular members began to migrate away as well. Many off the Lightwave users can be found at my pal Cobra's LWG3D website, and many of the former Max users can be found at SciFi-Meshes these days.

Why they aren't hanging out here much anymore I can't really say- I had turned ownership over to another friend (General Phoenix) for a while, and only got it back last year.
