3 D CGI USS Reverance - Aeroshuttle

Well it's been a hell of a long time since I've been here.

I've recently got back into Modelling (Going back to school to be taught properly, so I figure I'd better ) And well, personally I think I've improved quite a lot over the past couple of months, so I thought I'd start posting some work on here again.

So here it is, my first 'big' model.

Just to be clear, it's based on the images of Voyagers Aeroshuttle, but it's not supposed to be a direct copy, more inspired by

So...here's what I've got so far, it's quite far along.

As you can see I've started playing with textures, but they've never been my strong point, so I'm going to wait until I have the model finished before mucking about with anymore.

Comments / Criticisms always welcome

Agreed. I missed most of Voyager, so I totally missed the Aeroshuttle on there, but the front of the cockpit reminds me of the Danube-class runabouts from DS9.

The Aeroshuttle was never seen in Voyager, which I think is a crying shame, but some images were published in the Star Trek Magazine I believe, and I found them on the net somewhere and fell in love with the idea......so there ya go

Small update, nothing major, started adding a little detail (been busy with my new job and getting ready for school)

Also started to add temprorary surfaces so I could figure out the smoothing settings and the like.

I know my Spec settings are set way to high at the moment, that will be rectified when it becomes time to texture it properly, at the moment it helps with smoothing to have them set high.

Another close up shot of the cockpit Area

And another

War Core External assembly

Thruster Quad

Close up of one of the Impulse Engines, which I'm quite proud of.

These next few I forgot to enable glows, but still

Overall shot with temp. surfaces

Backend shot with temp. surfaces (see what I mean about spec settings?)

Nacelle closeup with the obligatory Starfleet Emblem.

Like I said, not much of an update, but I've been busy, and I really hate detailing. LOL

Not bad at all. Are you going to apply panel type textures? I think a very faint panel effect would really add to the model.

The textures, are going to be something akin to the temp texture I have on the main fusilage. As you can see I went a little overboard with the amount of panels etc.

In an ideal world there would eb a faint aztec texture, with panels similar to those already on there, but I'm having issues with flat surface Aztec textures atm.....if anyone has any tips, or tutorials, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks

I can never seem to finish a model....how annoying is that?

Please refer to this thread.
