Surprise Attack
I was flipping through the downloads section yesterday out of boredom and I came across Fabio's Bird of Prey mesh. Even though it's 8 years old, there is still no topping that beauty. So, I converted it.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of smoothing errors, especially on the wing panels, caused by the import, but I figure it's good for some distance shots, so I made an image. And, yes, I realize it's really cheesy and the flare is way too big but I was in an artsy mood earlier.

Re: Surprise Attack
No I like it .. I not always interested in the perfect images . ie lighting or effects . but in the drama or moment that the artist intends .. and you nailed it in this one..

Re: Surprise Attack
I like it too. The fact that it's not photo-realistic gives it a semi-comic feel which I like. Nice one EG.

Re: Surprise Attack
Nice job - Artistic license is what it's all about (yes, the flare is dramatic but it works for the scene).

Re: Surprise Attack
Cool scene-design - I like it. BTW I saw the third BOP only by a closer view - "coming out of the sun" - an old trick used also by Manfred von Richthofen - The "Red Baron"... ( not nessessary in modern times but it works very good in this scene... )

Re: Surprise Attack
That's what cloaking devices are for.
And, as we know, a cloak can be detected by the large amount of radiation it puts off and a visible distortion field. So, by hiding in the sun's corona, the cloak's radiation signature would blend in and the visible distortions wouldn't really show up either because nobody should be staring into the sun.
And, of course, thanks dude.

Or it was just a lucky break that the sun stands behind the BOP...

Re: Surprise Attack
Nice to see you making images and not just building all the time!

Re: Surprise Attack
Thanks dude. I occasionally render, just not very often. I'm thinking of trying animation pretty soon, though.
