Hmmmm... For some reason, you aren't allowed to post attachments. I'll have to look into that. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I had a look at your permissions in the Admin CP and it just says it's set to "default," whatever that is. I know that there used to be a setting for new members where you had to have 5 posts in the forums to download images and files and post attachments. Warrior took the setting out for the gallery and downloads but I don't know if it's still in effect for the attachments. I sent him a PM about the problem, though. I know it's a pain in the butt, but another thing you could try is Photobucket or ImageShack until we get this sorted out for you. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

I like them. I like the retro look. I really like the reflections of the water on the sub in the second one and the reflections on the ship in the third one.

The models are built in Truespace 4 and the renders are done in Bryce 4.
There's no postwork in that last image other than my sig. Unusual for me
These are not based on the TV series, but inspired by the 1960s comics drawn by Ron Turner for TV21. He took the Dalek design and made it his own. I just tried to build mine to resemble his drawings, and went overboard on the weird lighting.
Thanks

Why don't you render in tS4? (morbid curiosity.)

Renders look awful in TS4, and I like to have the maximum amount of control over the materials and lighting. I like Bryce's metals and reflections, the ability to use directional lights and masks, etc...
It's what I'm used to.
I have Bryce 5, but apart from soft shadows I don't see much need to use it that much.
(Plus its even slower to render than Bryce 4)

You did them in TS4? How??
Every time I've done it they look dull and lifeless... truth is I prefer Bryce.
I'll get me coat....

It's all about material settings and lighting, bro. I've spent whole days just watching episodes of Enterprise on DVD and studying the lighting on the FX shots. (Yeah, that's why I watched that many episodes in a row... )
One big thing that tS 4 has over tS3 is that you can spec map in it, though I had to ask scifieric how to do it. It's kinda one of those things you've gotta be shown how to do, unless you're a freakin' tS wizard, because there's no shader specifically for spec mapping.
