COOL Klingon For Terrorists

Quote:
The Klingon Language Institute has been asked to brief the US Military on its uses of the fictitious language and the possiblity terrorists might try to use the language for their own purposes. The government felt that terrorists might try to use Klingon--which possesses unique sound patterns and grammar--as a code for their communications.

Hey, anything's posible. Remember during the pacific war the US used a particular native american tribe for code work because their language was so unique.

They used the Navajo language because unlike a code a language cannot be broken - you either know it or you don't.

well it's not that weird really.

klingon is kind of the trekkie (read nerd?) language right? so that means it's the language of a whole category of people.

kind of like the navajo language they used in WW2 that was the language of a category of people too wasn't it

You make a good point, Sess. Besides, with the global popularity of Trek, I'm sure at least a few of the analysts at the FBI, NSA, CIA, MI5, Mossad, etc. already know the basics...

Though, if you want to know more, I can ask Dr. Shoen (the director of the KLI - anybody know how to add an umlaut on a US keyboard) about it at Shore Leave...
