Default 2 little surface things

Hi. In the last days I've modelled some cool thing. I think the modell looks pretty good, but now I have to texture the modell. Does somebody know good tutorials for surfacing planes?
And does somebody know a good surface-setting for cockpit-glass?
thx

Hey man..
For the Glass settings in a cockpit I generally use..
Pick Your Colour.. (I generally use either black or deep blue)
Luminosity 0
Diffuse 80%
Specularity 75%
Glossiness 40%
Reflection 15%
Transparency (Up to you)
Smoothing on....

Now if you want the window to appear as though there is light coming out of it then play with the luminosity.

Hope that helps...
