Test pictures with old ship ;)
I have returned to my oldiest ship and rendered two images with it. The Daedalus is kinda crappy but it was my first model. Looking forward to your comments.

Dude, those rock! Only one nitpic I have is the bussard glows. Need some!
Do that, then either post or send me the pics. These will definatly go on the site when you fix that.
Do two more also, as the pages have slots for 4 pics

Thank you Warrior - I will take a look at those bussards. I really like the way how they look at images I have seen here.

How 'bout some 5 views for the site as well? My Farragut is a refit, not an actual Daedalus, so I think we need this guy up there too!

Excellent, Saleck! That's good
As for the 6 views, have the bussards lit up some, but not glowing (glows gives us fits when converting the TGA's to GIF)
Read the Priority forum for the Views requirements.

Great images.
I have a slight lighting nit. It looks as if the highlights on the strenthening rings on the nacelles and hull are on the surfaces facing the viewer, meaning the light would be coming from behind the viewer. But the strongest light source is obviously the sun/star.
Also, a slight planet nit. The banding on the planet is horizontal but the ring is angled down about 30 degrees. Shouldn't they both be at the same angle?

I have added also several small ligths to help light the scene and one is directly behind camera. But as I look at the image, you are right - I will play with the lights setting a little bit more.

This is a detail that has escaped me. Thank you for reminder.

Crud... *L* Now I notice it too.
Soon as you get 'em fixed, send again, Saleck
All I'll have to do is upload to replace the old.

Will change them asap (probably today).
Btw - Warrior, I have taken a look at the pictures and some of them look like re-saved jpegs (they are a little bit distorted). I will upload them in tga format to the ftp and send you info. You can delete them afterwards.

They need to be JPG to start with.

OK - but you know what happens to jpg when you re-save it ... and if you are adding logo there, you have to resave it. Don't want to nitpick - I only want all the pictures to look the best.

Gonna go with fly_by3 as 4 is too bright on the unlit side (opposite the sun). 3 looks better in that regard by a long shot.

Thank you both - I like it more as well. The second picture was my try at accentuating of the planetary texture which is fairly dark in the first image.
