Another TOS Vessel
hello,
once again i have dared to model something from a set of schemtaics without asking in advance...
this time a lifeboat - full credit goes to BJ_O
see the schems here: http://www.3dgladiators.net/forums/s...threadid=19624
i allowed myself to change some details, such as the engines and landing gear. overall it is very close to the design.
bj_o, i hope you like and i din't step on your feet with this.
for a little test-animation check here: http://misc.dd3d.de/shiptest.avi
(300k)
on a sidenote: once this is textured i will put together a scene with the Ian shelton and this lifeboat.
c&c welcome

ok, the text looked a little thick, but I guess I can't really see it in detail

No foot stompin' here, X. Looks great! I know you already have, but feel free to take some liberties with the design since it was pretty much a rough sketch.

thanks b.j., i'm glad you like it.
the model is done allready, i won't change anything on it unless i have to (because of errors, or so)
the inside needs some texturing and i want a version of her with textured outside as well (for dirt).
when this is complete the textures of the ian shelton will follow, then a little scene.
and if you don't mind both ships will be released for use afterwards.

i have no idea *g*
they seem to be layed out as small vessels that launch from the shuttlepay. to me it seems like a little shuttle.
perhaps bj can shed some light

Nice job so far. I didn't realize that was a lifeboat; I thought it was the TOS version of either the TMP travel pod, or the TNG Type 15 shuttlepod.

I was just thinking the same thing, it does look like the TNG shuttlepod

It could also launch them from the yellow and grey "hatches" on the saucer:
Just a thought

the type 15a is very similar to the 15, btw - forgot to say that.
proceed to the next thread for more on the ian shelton and the lifeboat:
