Yeah, I've seen this before. It's from the same era as Fabio's pre-TOS mods in the downloads. I always thought those designs were cool predacessors to the Daedalus-class ships. Excellent job modeling and texturing. Are you planning on getting more advanced with it?

What do you mean by "more advanced"?

Well, it looks like you followed the blueprints exactly. And, it looks great. However, I didn't know if you were going to add any personal touches or things of that nature, or leave it as is.

I'll stick to the design. At least as best as I can.

Nice job so far. I've always enjoyed the simplicity of Masao's designs. They allow for fun modelling projects.

UPDATE...
Modelling on this ship is finished. I've added what I thought was an airlock in the reference picture and I finished the impulse engines. Almost all the textures for the primary hull are finished. I'll probably need to tweak a few places.

Looks great. I like the subtle weathering on the hull. I forget, is this ship a destroyer or another classification?

I don't know for sure but I think it's just a small cruiser.

I couldn't remember, I was just curious. I guess I could just jet over to shipschematics.net and find it. The guns just sort of screamed "destroyer" for some reason.
Edit: just found it. You're right, it's a cruiser.

I think I made the guns a little bit bigger than they should be. Maybe I'll make them shorter.

Well, it is a war-era cruiser. The bigger guns would probably be a must-have. Really, dude, I found those schematics at shipschematics.net and yours looks great.

Question about those guns... are they actually mounted on a turret that can traverse? I'm not very familiar with these kinds of designs.

I;m not to familiar with the designs myself. I assume they can move, but I don't know.

Yes, they are turrets and can rotate. See all of Masao's stuff at the Star Fleet museum. You will find a detailed (for most designs) back story as well as deck plans and various images done by folks that are fans of his work. (Yes, includes yours truely ).

Great job modeling and texturing, as always. I especially like those turrets with the emblem on them.
