Default hardware question

Hi, I have a question. I have a Athlon 1.1 GHZ processor, 512 MB Ram, a ASUS A7V KT133 board and a ASUS V7700 deluxe 64MB graphics card. In the Benchmark 3DMark 2001 I only have 1100 points, I saw in other forums that people with nearly thbe same configuration have much more points, I asked there but I got no replys. Could you help me solv this little problem?

It's all about the driver, buddy. nVidia is leaking newer versions to the web all few weeks, and the performance sometimes increases and sometimes decreases - extremely.

When I use 1.1.8.0. I get on my PIII-800/GeForce2Pro 1400 points. Using 7.x I get 2500. After tuning a bit I finally get around 3000!

So, go to http://www.rivastation.com/treiber.htm (it's in German, but you'll be able to find te right driver, I'm pretty sure) and download some versions. I think you'll do the best when downloading the newest version and the latest marked as "(official)" - even these official reference-driver versions are in the most cases much, much newer than it's counterparts from Asus. Try both versions, or try some others - with one you'll get a _much_ higher 3dmark-count!

And don't change the configuration in 3D Mark 2001! On startup it's configured to do a default-benchmark - and that's the one you have to look for.

PS.: Im Notfall schreib mir eine eMail, ich denke mal, in der Landessprache duerfte uns - oder mir zumindest - Kommunikation deutlich leichter fallen.

Yeah Sho's right.
It's in the drivers.
Update them ALL.
Get DX8!
It gives around a 150-500 point improvement.
