I was really intrigued by your design and decided to do a 3d mock-up of it.
Just threw in some lights and there is no real detailing to speak of i just wanted to get a feel for the shape so there are several parts missing.
It is a very good design
some more views of it would be nice

Actually, I started a model of it last night, too, but I got to the top and wasn't sure of the best way to do it. And it was about three in the morning, so I didn't bother. *L*

Okay I found my answer and it turns out that Spacedock is the TNG series is almost 17km tall ... OUCH! That is one big station. I take back anything I said about you 9km station
I am so looking forward to a 3d Model of this bad boy with some ships around it for comparison
Any ideas for a name I could use in my campaign, since Starbase Delta is out, maybe they will put one in the Gamma Quadrant and I could call it Starbase Gamma

This design is very sweet but what is the point of making any type of art without a little artistic expression so here is my untextured and unfinished take on this great starbase.

let`s give this a try then, shall we?
are there any detailed views of her? specially on the docking-pods (?) on the center ring
of course i`ll have to finish off the ian shelton and that lifeboat first before i get stabbed, but i think i`ll begin with this thing just tonight. i`ve never modelled a station but wanted to for a long while...so, hey, why not

Not fanfic
But I had an idea for a Trek RPG based around the idea that Dr. Lenora Khan is able to stablize the Barzan Wormhole, thereby providing Wormhole access to the Delta Quadrant.
Now Starfleet would begin building a major staging area on the DQ side of that wormhole, and I think Starbase Delta is just crying to be that station
She would be home to the Delta Quadrant Expeditionary Force. A fleet of ships checking up on what Voyager learned and reported back to Starfleet.
You assess the effects of Voyager on the DQ and the current state of the BORG.
