How to Post Pics in Threads
Ok, when I first came here, I had no clue how to post pictures in forum threads and others have asked this question too. So, I decided to make a nice little tutorial for doing this. Just click on the pics below to see larger versions.
First things first, you'll need your image to be either at another web site or here in the gallery section. Once it's uploaded to the web somewhere, proceed as follows:
The first thing you're going to need to do in your new thread/post window is click the INSERT IMAGE button illustrated here:
You'll get a cute little window that looks something like this:
Once you have this screen, go to where your picture is on the web in a differnt window. Once there, select the web address of your pic like so:
Now that you have the web address, paste it in the little insert image window like so:
After the image address is in the little window, click OK and you'll have a nice image code in the thread/post window like so:
And that's all there is to it. Once you post the thread/post, your image will be able to be seen by all.
Note: If you use ImageShack as I just did, just copy the link for posting the pic on forums and paste it in the thread as is. You'll be good to go.

This is great Its good to have people like yourself around Next question
I've not used a service like the one you mentioned in your tutorial, do you have to pay for "image shack"? what is the URL for them?
Thanks,
Ken

There you go. It's free to use. It only costs if you get impatient and want to upload images in zip files. If you don't mind uploading them one-by-one, it costs nothing. And it's easy to register, too, you just give them your e-mail address and they send you a personal link where you can upload and view your stuff.

As another newbie on the site, is there a time limit on photobucket or image shack? 'Twould be a shame to come up with yet another newbie 'masterpiece' only to have it evaporate a few months down the road.

I've had the images in this thread up at image shack for more than 7 months now.

Hmmm... I'm surprised those images are still on there. I changed e-mail providers more than a year ago and stopped using my imageshack account I had with my old Yahoo e-mail. I figured it would've disintegrated by now. It's supposed to close after you don't log on for 90 days.

Re: How to Post Pics in Threads
After the 5 post limit, you can use attachments here as well as the Gallery.

Re: How to Post Pics in Threads
Speaking of showing up, I'm still amazed those images show up.
I was thinking when I saw this on the "new posts" list that this thread was useless, with the attachments and all. Then I saw your post and realized it's relevant information to people with less than 5 posts who want to post images.
