Yeah I could see that but it looks good from a distance. So I'm ok with it.

UPDATE...
To start with just some random details near the warp engines. Mostly finished all I need to do is chamfer a few edges.
Secondly the bridge structure is very nearly done. Edges need to be chamfered and a few details moved around and I'll be done with that.

I think you'd have to wait in line to nab him.
Xfozzboute, I do like how you always tackle the ships people don't usually model and make them look simply outstanding. Your usual good work, sir.

Wow... I've got to say it's great fun watching this thing evolve. Very educational as well. I like what you've done with the Bridge tower. Have you decided what the ship's main function is? Is it going to be a flying holodeck, or is there more to its capabilities?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of it develops. It's really looking good.

Seeing as it's a ship for section 31 it's primary purpose will be covert operations. It's definately not a holoship anymore and I don't even know if will will have a holodeck at all but these ships might have a few cloaking devices scrounged up after the dominion war. I haven't even decided on the final scale yet but I would like it to be around the size of the defiant and equally as powerful if not a little bit more.

Hmmmm....
With the bridge in that sail tower she's gonna have to be, at rock bottom minimum, well over six times the size of the Defiant. Probably a lot more. Between the placement of the bridge and the location/size of your hangar deck, I'd have guessed more carrier sized, really.
On the other hand, at any scale, given the proportional size of the engines, she's gonna have plenty of power. With a cloak and the weapons to go with those engines she'll kick butt and take names. ^_^
I really *like* where you've place the hangar, BTW. It's easily accessible yet very well protected.
Can't wait to see more!

Well I certainly don't want it that large. It's not how I imagined it. I sometimes think that it could be disguised as a freighter or other type of civilian craft. And it needs to be a ship that can get in and out of a situation as quickly as needed. I also don't see section 31 haveing that many people on a ship so a small ship would be better with a small crew. I might a few windows on this thing for scale.

I used to be the type of guy that posted the smallest update. I try to keep the updates down to ones that are worth it. Plus all I've been doing is chamfering edges for parts I feel are finished and renaming some parts. I might have an update on Saturday or Sunday.

Disguised as a freighter? Yeah, that could work pretty well... and if you internalise the bridge, then you can make it just about any size you want. If you want to use that freighter disguise, I'd suggest something around 150 - 200m LOA - that seems a good size for a small cargo hauler. Large enough to be viable, but not so big as one of the major commercial freighters.
I would, perhaps, also thicken that gap where the hangar entrance is to keep it from getting too cramped.
Should be ideal for covert ops, then... cloaked even when it's not cloaked. ^_- And extremely flexible in terms of internal arrangement.
Will definitely be looking forward to saturday's update!

UPDATE...
Not as much of an update as I would have lliked but I've been busy with other things and I've been spending most of my time chamfering edges and rebuilding a few parts to improve their look.
I've begun to detail the nav deflector.

RL is never hard on me it just tends to get in the way of things I'd rather be doing.

UPDATE...
I have not done much work on this lately because rwal life has been getting in my way. But the biggest problem was that I had to rebuild some of this part. And I didn't feel like it.
But I did and it now looks like this.
I've also begun to work on the part around the warp engine hole.

You may not have felt like it, but I'm glad you did. How much is left? Looks very close to being completed.

Not even close to being done yet. I haven't even started work on the bottom of the ship and I've just started to design the warp engines.

UPDATE...
I haven't worked on this for awhile because of a few other projects that I've started. But I'm back to work for now.
I filled in that giant hole in the bottom of the back part of the ship. Aft torpedoes will go here. Maybe some left over defiant pulse phasers too.
I've also done some more detail work on the warp engines.

Very Nice, I certainly can't wait to see where you go with this. I am always modelling ships and watching someone elses progress certainly helps.

All I did here was add some more detail to back section. I added two pulse phasers and torpedoe launchers as well.

UPDATE...
I've decided to start building the interior of the shuttle bay. I've also started a few textures. I left the doors off so you can see inside.
...oops, just noticed I spelled shuttle wrong.

UPDATE...
More detail done on the warp engines.
And I've begun my version of the type 15 shuttle pod. This will be closer to the type 16, be slightly larger and carry heavier weapons. And be warp capable.
