i've added the main hangar-doors and rounded off the surface of the major-saucer.
not really worth a new pic just yet

the first pic you showed of this think almost looked like a picture of an unpainted resin model. It's good to see some neat bases. Although, that first pic you showed would make a nice finished base design just by itself.

If I can wait on George RR Martin to get the 4th book out, I can wait for this masterpiece as well

Take your time man... I'll happily wait

the update will not reveal much new, considering the modelling is almost done.

it only needs some additional plating.
then the texturing begins and as everybody knows i am not good at that.
but we'll see

i`m fairly good at modelling dead objects like pencils for feanor to chew on but i am a big sucker at texturing.

well, i gotta learn how to texture a spacestation and what better way is there to learn on one`s own model

besides, how difficult can it be to slap a map on cylinders...

okay, everyone. got a lil pic for you...

i have added a first row of windows to one of the lower sections. the windows are squares turned around by 45° and have 8 vertices each.

they are aproximately one by one meter in size - average for a window, if not bigger than that.

what ou will see is that you will not see
but have a looksee yourself:

Wow.
that thing is huge...

By the look of it the windows are soo small compared to the rest of the station that it wouldnt matter too much if they were meshed or textured unless you were right up on it.

8000m is not just a catjump, you see....

and imagine that there were stations up to 15.000m! if you can see the windows of these they must be 20 meters in size.

pretty unrealistic i should think...

it is rather pointless to model something that yo can't see. specially when - like in this case - the amount of faces is increased by the factor 300!

my msn is only for very prominent persons, it is strictly limited to my friends.

there are twelve entries, three of which are liza's various accounts. everyone else will have to contact me via pm or email. but that doesn't happen often cause i'm fairly uninteresting

But the windows are there and you can get close to them if you want to, that's all that matters.

And you can't be that uninteresting if you had hundreds of messages at a time.

perhaps i was more interesting

what good will windows do that nobody can see, i wonder.

when a tree falls over in a forest far away from an ear to hear, does it make a sound?

WOW! I think you've got a model and just taking camera shots, that's what it looks like. Very detailed though, you are indeed the detailer, in my opinion.
