Re: Enterprise Era Ship....I think
It's nice to come home after a crummy day and have a look at both blogs. It really an insparation. Even more so because Doug appears to be a little nuts.
UPDATE...
There's a few more details on the captains quarters and turbo lift. And mor stuff on the collar surrounding the command deck.
The bridge is bigger in the second pic.

Re: Enterprise Era Ship....I think
Looks great, dude. So, is that growing bridge a feature on the newer ships? I like that collar around the command deck, it reminds me a bit of the one around the Excelsior, which is one of my favorite Trek models.

Yeah, Doug's good people. I also like the fact that, despite 20+ years in the entertainment industry, John Eaves is still a goober just like the rest of us. He gets all excited about Trek and his various Trek-related projects (so does Doug) and talks about getting all star struck when meeting Jerry Goldsmith and I'm just nodding and going "Yeah, that would have been me if I'd met him." They're a couple of great blogs and I usually don't do blogs.

UPDATE...
I've got two shots of the completed Catpain's quarters. And two close ups of more detail around the bridge.

Re: Enterprise Era Ship....I think
UPDATE...
While watching the movie Glory I decided I wanted to name a few ships after Civil War battles. So I thought “hey I’ve got a ship that might work.” I had stopped working on it because the secondary hull had me stumped. And all of a sudden I had it, I knew what I wanted to do. The Nav deflector is only a temp to get an idea for size and placement. I’m still not sure if I’ll even put one on the ship. After all the Reliant got away with it.

Re: Enterprise Era Ship....I think
UPDATE...
I have a little bit more work done on this ship.
Pic 1 shows that I made a few more adjustments to the shape and size of the impulse engine. I felt it was a little too big last time. I also added some details just infront of the impulse engine. I also added an Enterprise type sensor/communications pallet to the spine.
Pic 2 Is a close up the Sensor /Communications pallet.
Pic 3 Shows anothe ridea for placement of a Nav Deflector. I've used it on another ship many moons ago and I lke it.
