Yeah, I'll bet. Grid lines can take it out of you, especially on a hull with a lot of curvature.

UPDATE...
More lifeboats. (#1)
And an idea for another docking port. I thought in drydock amagnetic arresting arm could attach here. The actuall port would be flush to the hull this is just a mockup. (#2)

Nice. It's always great to have an abundance of lifeboats. The docking port is cool also. You don't see many vertical ports on ST ships but it makes sense to have some.

UPDATE...
Sorry for the lack of updates but I somehow actually got some paying work.
Anyway, more lifeboats. (#1)
I shortened the deflector dish and changed the nipple in the center of it to be more of a dish. (#2)

Great work. More lifeboats is always a good thing (safety first, ) and the deflector looks even better now.

Great stuff. The Interceptor looks cool but I'm really loving that Klingon ship. You've got a couple little mesh errors by the booleans cuts for your gun-thingies but it still looks awesome.

It's nothing huge, just some slight smoothing errors caused by the vertices in your booleans cuts not matching the model. I circled the errors in red. They're not huge in that light but in scene lighting they could stick out a lot.

UPDATE...
Fixed those mesh errors. Added a few new bits. (#1)
The cut out section above the torpedoe launchers is the new version of the rust colored mouth guard on the BOP. (#2-3)
Beveled a few of the edges. Still have a few more to do. (#4)

Some more work on the Bajoran Intercepter. (#1-2)
Starting to flesh out the torpedoe launcher on the U.S.S. Romero. I'm naming this ship after horror movie directors. (#3-4)

Is there any chance you could soften some of those edges on the Bajoran ship? They seem kinda sharp.
The Federation ship looks wicked so far.

Oh, cool. I'm used to doing things in tS where, if I didn't bevel those edges before I cut those lines, I'd be in trouble. Obviously, Max does things differently.

The thing that I liked most were the detailed pictures on the Soval, especially the bridge area, very good work.

Thank you. I'll get back to the Soval soon. I just want to flesh out some of the other concepts.

Added a few more windows on one of the cardie ships and redid the shape of the main hull to look closer like the Galor class ship. (#2-5)

More Cardie stuff. This ship has been a nice change of pace from the Federation ships. (#1-3)
Here's a scale shot of the ships that have the most work done so far. (#4)

UPDATE...
I thought I'd try focusing on one ship and getting the modelling part of it done. Since the Bajorian ship is the smallest and has the least amount of detail I'll try to finish it.
I added what will become the bridge section and some windows on the sides. (#1)
Close up of the windows. (#2)
I still have no idea what to do about the wings and bottom of this ship.

Amazing detail on the starship. Though, I'm not a big fan of the giant under belly. It's still awesome.

The Bajoran ship looks good, dude. Though maybe a tad bit large for a Bajoran ship. (Not complaining, just noting.)
