Re: This is not a reboot
Shouldn't it be I.S.S. Saladin?
Looks damn spiffy, dude.

Re: This is not a reboot
This is a wonderful re-imaging of the Saladin - updated without loosing the feel of what made TOS ships look as they did.

Re: This is not a reboot
Thank you.
That's what I was hoping for.
UPDATE...
I've got the finished interiors for the cargo and shuttle bays.
I've got the final look and size of the NCC number and I added a few extra splatches to the hull.
And just for the fun of it I started to block in the new Bonaventure.

Re: This is not a reboot
Looks good!
I like how you're putting work into the shuttle bay.
I don't know if it is as important to people who render still images, but I can tell you from an animator standpoint it's awesome to have a mesh where there is access to things like shuttle bays. Nice touch.
The shot of the Saladin saucer section is also very nice. I agree with Jayru's comment about it. Good job!

Re: This is not a reboot
Nice work on everything. The bays look sweet. I also like the textures, the slight cant to the Terran Empire logo is a nice touch. I'm also liking the looks of the Bonaventure so far.

I had to tilt the empire emblem because it wouldn't fit.

Ah, I didn't notice that before but I do now. Even so, it's still cool.

Re: This is not a reboot
UPDATE...
More textures.
I've been working on the textures the lower saucer. They're mostly done. I have to replace the ones on the deflector housing because they just don't appear to match very well.

Re: This is not a reboot
Yeah, and then you removed the other two attachments and I was trying to click on them and getting a dumb message, so I reloaded the page and saw what you'd done.
Looks great, bro. I really like the bussard dome, it's spiffy.

Oops. Sorry about that. Gotta keep something exclusive to the blog.
I like the bussards to. It's a little bit too orange but it's ok for now.

Great work.
Bonus points on the windows!
I like it when it looks like there is life inside the ship.

Re: This is not a reboot
UPDATE...
Well I'm finally back at it.
The ship is nearly finished. I just have to fix some minor mesh errors on the bottom of the saucer and finish the textures for the shuttle and I can put a big done stamp on it.
These aren't the official orthos but the ship is done enough at this point to do them.

Re: This is not a reboot
Thank you.
The images are from Enterprise and most are either upside down or sideways. I have to decide on the ones I want turned off so all the windows aren't on.
UPDATE...
While adding a new texture to the back of the shuttle I thought about two more ideas.
A. Is a small shuttle pod. Kind of like the one from Star Trek: Enterprise.
B. Is the standard shuttle.
C. Is a large shuttle used by larger ships and ground and space stations. I was thinking something like the shuttles used in the new Star Trek movie.

UPDATE...
I decided to flesh out the Kelvin version of this ship.
At my blog you'll find a new idea for another ship.

Yah, that is pretty cool looking.
Not a design that I'm really into, but you've managed to do it well enough that it could change my mind. That's powerful stuff.
Excellent job!

This is superb work and very detailed. The multiple views shown would also make great blueprints for others to recreate this work with the permission of the owner ofcourse.
Outstanding.

Re: This is not a reboot
UPDATE...
Well I couldn't keep myself from working on a Trek ship so I opened my Wip folder and the first file I had was the U.S.S. Archer. I rebuilt the Catamarans and started to detail the thingy that is between them.

Re: This is not a reboot
Cool. That's the feel I was going for.
UPDATE...
I feel that I’ve finished the thingy between the cats. And I’ve got the final shape for them and added new phasers to replace the ones that got covered up. Now I can work on the details and finish up the warp pylons.
I think I have the names for the other ships.
Archer
Tucker
Forest
Akira
Thunderchild

Re: This is not a reboot
Thunderchild is always a good one .. very war of the worlds,
what about the "Montana" for one ??
I read the name yesterday and said "Hey !!! that a good name for a Ship"
then I said other things but that's not important
