Re: Blake's 7 Liberator DSV
How did you manage to upload it? Every time I've tried to upload something lately it didn't work.

Firefox rocks.
Since I've stared using it (back many updates ago!) I've not used anything else.
Firefox is now, what Netscape used to be.
If ya' know what I mean.

Re: Blake's 7 Liberator DSV
Yeah, Firefox is what I use except to check my e-mail. I get dumb messages when I go to MSN using Firefox (friggin' Microsoft anyway.) I've tried uploading files using both Firefox and IE and it doesn't work for me, for some reason. I've even tried both .zip and .rar.

Re: Blake's 7 Liberator DSV
What kind of files are you trying to upload?
If it's to this site, I have problems any time I try and upload a BMP file.

Re: Blake's 7 Liberator DSV
.zip and .rar (I thought I already said that. ) I don't have problems with the gallery, just the downloads section. I've even tried uploading using the Admin CP with no luck.

Re: Blake's 7 Liberator DSV
.BMP isn't an allowed format, which is why you have problems uploading those to the gallery. Warrior probably excluded it because bitmaps are so large and use more bandwidth to transfer.

Re: Blake's 7 Liberator DSV
The problem I have is that it will take forever (of course, I'm on dialup) and then tell me that I'm not logged in after I upload something, even if I use the Admin CP, which I clearly have to be logged in to even view, or it will tell me that the format isn't accepted. Now, I can't remember if it did the format thing with .zip or just the other stupid thing. Either way, it's frustrating.

Re: Blake's 7 Liberator DSV
If you are on dialup and the file you are uploading is very large, the server might be timing out. When a file is being uploaded, the i/o system takes over but the server thinks this is an idle period. It might be timing out in your case. (At least, this is the case on SOME servers. Not sure if it is so on this one but it's worth checking out.)

Re: Blake's 7 Liberator DSV
Yeah, I think that's what's happening. Though, the files aren't that large. What's weird is that it didn't used to happen, just in the last few months.

Re: Blake's 7 Liberator DSV
Odd..... I wonder if it has anything to do with the number of people now using the server?
