Re: Federation Civil War
Thank you.
UPDATE...
More bits and pieces have been added. I plan on adding several modified details from the Galor class.

Re: Federation Civil War
I love it when you detail stuff. Looks great.
On a side note; has anyone ever figured out why the Spoonheads' ships look like fish? I mean, I know they drink chilled fish juice in the morning, but you don't see us making ships that look like huge cups of coffee.

Re: Federation Civil War
If I remember correctly, and I usually don't. The Galor was based on a scorpion but the Hedeki was based on a horseshoe crab.

That sounds about right. They just always remind me of fish. The main exception is the Cardassian freighter. It looks nothing like a fish.

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
Didn't get a chance to post these over the weekend because I wasn't home. Too busy seeing a kick ass concert.
Shots of the the two cargo bays. At least that's what I'm calling them. The only image of this ship that I have to work on is a top view so all the othe view details I have to make up.
Just another top view.
Shots of the back. I rebuilt the flux chiller thing. And I'm detailing the spikes. Also added an upper sensor pallet. I'm beginning to add things not in the original design because it is too simple.

Re: Federation Civil War
Texturing something like this with the level of detail you're putting into your textures has to be taxing, so it's no wonder you need breaks. As before, the new textures are awesome. I love the way you're texturing this ship.

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
Well the textures for the front of the ship is being kind of a pain so I thought I take a turn doing the wing support structure.
I'm still unsure about how beat up I want the bottom of the ship. I think it should be a real mess.

Re: Federation Civil War
Looks awesome, dude. IMO, you should make the bottom look like it's been through some rough landings.

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
I added some more to the wing support and I'm almost happy with the result. I've also started on the textures for the underside of the wing. What litle you can see is just the start.
Here is a bigger shot. The other wing is temp I just wanted to see what it looks like with both wings textured.
The last two pics are just for fun to see how it would look landed. And it looks like a squashed bug. I still like it. Ignore the textures on the other wing I do plan on modifying them so they don't look the same.

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
More Cardassian goodness.
I made cut outs on the side of the ship for greebles.
I also decided to make the spikeas at the back kind of look like the cut outs on the outer rim of DS9. I also added aft disrupters. Two more vents added to the botom of the ship to match the one on top.

Re: Federation Civil War
Looks good, dude. It makes sense that the spikes would match the docking thingies on DS9's outer rim. (It's gotta dock somewhere....)

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
Getting around to working on the textures for the front of the ship and the bottom.
As you can see I have an ugly seam where the the lower and side textures meet.
I think in the third picture I might have found a way to lessen that seam by useing a blend material.
I'm still working on these so I haven't dirtied them up as much as I would like to.
These things are kicking my ass. I hate textures.

Re: Federation Civil War
I hate it when I get those seams also. It definitely looks like you worked it out some for that 3rd image, though. And, as I've said before, it looks spectacular, dude.

Re: Federation Civil War
Thanks Evil.
UPDATE...
Since I think I've gotten over the hump of those stupid seams I feel better about moving forward.
I've started the textures for the upper part of the bridge. I have to dent, scratch and scrape it up a bit more.

Re: Federation Civil War
What can I say except what I keep saying; it looks awesome. Aside from the dents, dirt and scratches you want to add to everything, it looks like you've basically just got the belly and the port wing left to texture.

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
More greebles for the Cardassians. I'm rather happy with them.
Just a distance shot to see if the greebles hold up.
I'm starting on the front part of the ship. This should look like the one on the Galor class ship but my references are crap here so I'm make some of it up.

Re: Federation Civil War
Very impressive work - allmost at the details. Hope my own cruiser would look half as good as this two meshes when it´s ready. You really have a hand for creating and texturing meshes...

Re: Federation Civil War
A few more things to end the night.
UPDATE...
I decided to pull out my old unbuilt plastic model of the Galor to figure out the look of the front part of the ship and decided on what you se in the pic. I also made some changes to the yellow parts and I am much happier with them now. Although I will rebuild them tio have the ridges that the Galor has.
I made a little change the the wings by adding a small extra layer. I think it looks much better now.
The last picture I did mostly for fun. I was thinking that Section 31 and the Freemasons could be part of the same nutty bunch.

Yeah, that does make sense. 'Specially since Sloan told Bashir that Section 31 had been around long before the Federation.
