That's hot, dude. I really love that turbolift car. BTW, what year is all this stuff supposed to be from? I noticed the 6-digit registry for the Soval.

Re: Federation Civil War
The Soval's number is just temp right now. I just use my birthdate for this kind of thing. I see it taking place maybe 10 to 20 years after Nemesis. Did ya notice I'm useing the old emblem from the TOS shirts. I've never liked any of the com badges so I decided the new one will be based on the emblem on the shirts of the TOS Enterprise crew.

Re: Federation Civil War
Yeah, I did notice the old emblem. But, if you want to get technical, that one is still in use in signage and whatnot in the late 24th century stuff. On a lot of the later ships, they've dropped the ovals from the emblems on the outside of the ship. I just figured that's what you were doing also.
As far as actual ST logos go, I like the old ones the best also. The ones in the first movie weren't bad either, they just had department color circles behind them. I don't like the later movie ones that well at all and the combadges are just OK for me. (the TNG ones are better than the post-Generations ones, though)

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
I think as far as these greebles go, I'm done. I don't want to over do it.
I also added a cheese grater near the thing up front.
I've made a few changes to the turbolift display. I fixed the font and a few of the jaged edges. Thanks to Bill Morris over at Okudagram.com for pointing me in the right direction for the font.
Last is aprototype for a door control display. The turbolift probably will need one.

Re: Federation Civil War
Cardassian ship designs are kinda ugly but yours is one of the best I've seen. Of course, your usual high quality modeling and greebleage really helps a lot. The control thingies also look good.

Re: Federation Civil War
Personally I've always liked Caedassian ships. I don't know why.
UPDATE...
In the first picture you can see I made some changes to the texture inside the engines. I think these make them appear a little less boring.
The second picture shows the textures for the airlock hatch and the landing pads.

Re: Federation Civil War
I haven't seen the new Batman movie with the late Heath Ledger playing the Joker but, of the ones I've seen do the job, Jack rules above them all. (that's even including the great job Mark Hamill did on the animated Batman show)
And your textures rule also. It looks like you're almost done and ready to use that bad boy in some images.

Re: Federation Civil War
You are missing out on not seeing the new Batman movie. Ledger makes a great Joker. Never thought he was much of an actor before this.
I never liked Jack's joker. I never felt he was anything other Jack Napier taking on a persona of the Joker but never really being the Joker.
Anyway...
UPDATE...
Textures for the airlock are done. Just a few things to fix and a few tweaks and I'll be done.

Re: Federation Civil War
I looked over at the dedication plaques by Kmpr_rak at Okudagram.com and thought I'd try doing one. I went over to http://techspecs.acalltoduty.com/plaques.html to take a look at the templates. I decided to scrap most of it and start from scratch. Ignore the stardate since I'm not sure about that yet and I know nothing about how they are figured out, so in the end I will probably just make one up. The U.S.S. Defiant plaque that I have from the Franklin Mint was a great help.

Sweet sweet stuff, man. Truly outstanding. As I said once before, you have truly outdone yourself.

Re: Federation Civil War
What really amazes me is the longevity of that Starfleet design team. The same team that designed the Enterprise-B apparently designed the Enterprise-D, Defiant, Voyager, Enterprise-E, several other TNG-era ships, and now this ship.
Seriously, that's superb work. I love that quote from Enterprise you used (that's probably on my top 10 Soval quotes. )

Well, people do appear to live longer then they need to in Star Trek.
I have noticed a little something I have to fix but this is the final version. I may do a few alternate texture packs later on.

Re: Federation Civil War
It's a little disturbing to think they named a military ship after their spiritual leader but it's a freakin' great looking model.

Well the name works for me. It was going to be this or the other one that Kira get it on with. Berial or what whatever his name was.

Thank you.
Not really an update I have have finalized the names of the first five Soval class ships.
Soval
I made a few changes to this one.
He was the Vulcan Ambassador to Earth for many years in the early days of Earth-Vulcan relations. He originally fought to restrain Earth from sending ships deep into space but eventually changed his opinions before the formation of the United Federation of Planets. He was severely injured in the bombing of the Earth embassy on Vulcan, being saved through the sacrifice of Admiral Forrest.
Kuvak
Minister Kuvak was a member of the Vulcan High Command prior to its dissolution in 2154. When Jonathan Archer and T'Pau presented the Kir'Shara to the High Command, and accused Administrator V'Las of framing the Syrannites for the Earth embassy bombing, Kuvak incapacitated V'Las and ordered the invasion forces headed for Andor to withdraw. Following the removal of V'Las from office and the dissolution of the High Command, Kuvak assumed an important role in the new Vulcan government and promised a less supervisory role in Vulcan's future relations with Earth.
Solkar
T'Pol mentioned that he was the first Ambassador to Earth.
Surak
The most beloved and respected of all Vulcans who ever lived. He was the founder of modern Vulcan philosophy. He instigated The Great Reform, which put an end to millennia of warfare. He was murdered during a peace mission but his work continued past his death. His ideals of logic and IDIC remain foundations of Vulcan society. His Katric Ark was found in 2137 and, in 2154, his katra was transferred to the Hall of Knowledge for all Vulcans to have access to.
T'Pau
One of the most respected women in Vulcan history, a skilled high priestess and politician. She participated in Vulcan affairs much of her life. She was the only Vulcan to have turned down a seat on the Federation Council. She was a descendant of Surak, the grandmother of Sarek, and great-grandmother of Sybok and Spock. She lived well over 200 years but her actual age at death is apparently unknown.
This information comes from here http://home.teleport.com/~vli/vulcans.htm so don't hang me if any of it is wrong.

Re: Federation Civil War
The plaques all look great but why do they all have the same quote? On most Starfleet ships, those differ from ship to ship.

Re: Federation Civil War
Did they?
I wasn't sure myself because you never really got a chance to see. I just really didn't want to have to come up with a quote for each ship. That might drive me crazier than builidng the damn thing.

I think you mean Vedek Bareil - The name of Kai Opaka for a ship-class is okay IMO. BTW this mesh is a very impressive work, I really like it

Re: Federation Civil War
You are right.
Ok I have one for T'Pau
"You'll no longer have us looking over your shoulder. It's time for Earth to stand on it's own."
And one for Surak
"Logic has not won this day. But this day will not last forever."
Solkar will be the hardest since he's never been seen or heard.
