Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
I've gotten a good amount of work done. A few bits and pieces including warp grills and the ever dependable scale guy. I'm still not sure about the size of the ship but right know it's about the size of an Oberth class ship.

That's pretty friggin' sweet so far, bro. I like the way you're detailing what you've done. It's definitely a different look for Trek.

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
More work done on the warp engine. And a little bit done on what will become the Nav deflector.
I didn't know what I was going to do about Bussard collectors but I think I figured it out. I like it so i'm gonna keep it.

Yah man - Looks cool so far.
I bet you're going to have fun with the rest of the ship.

Re: Federation Civil War
I don't know if I'd call it fun.
UPDATE...
I've got some work on the, I don't know what to call it really because it's too small to be called a secondary hull. I imagine there's not a lot of room for people. I'm happy with it so far.

Re: Federation Civil War
I'd think warp systems and maybe some sensors would be all that could fit in there.
Looks awesome, dude.

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
I've done most of the work on the lower sensor platform. I might do some more just to add a little more detail. I also blocked in the neck.

Re: Federation Civil War
It's almost hard to believe that this is a Star Trek ship. But I like it. I like seeing "different" ST designs, when they're done right.

Re: Federation Civil War
When I first saw the design I didn't think it looked like a Trek ship either. But after working on it I think it fits rather well.
UPDATE...
I worked on the neck and have started to shape the saucer. It's got a lot of work to do because it is an odd shape and the two pictures I have to work from don't exactly match. And I also have to make it fit to scale.
It's driving me nuts.
I borrowed the bridge from my Soval class to see how it might look.

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
Decided to take a look at another of my ships to see what needed to be worked on. I think I'll name this ship after mountains.
I started to detail the uber-pulse phasers and refine the shape of the pylon connecting them to the hull and torpedo launcher.

I'm not sure if I like the main hull or not but those weapons arrays are badass.

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
More work on the rollbar. Mostly a few chamfered edges and a few panel lines.

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
Well I've done all I'm gonna do to the roll bar.
I've refined the shapes of the main body of the ship so they aren't just streight up and down any more. I think it looks much better now.
I've also started to work on the Nav Deflector. I usually just do round ones so I thought I'd try something else.

Re: Federation Civil War
Thanks.
UPDATE...
I've now added a shuttle bay and panel lines the part od the back of the ship. I don't think I'll add any windows to this section.
I've also added impulse engines and new warp engine pylons.
And speaking of warp engines I borrowed the engines from my Soval class ship. They're a little shorter than I would like but it helps give me a direction to go in.

Re: Federation Civil War
Even though they're not necessarily permanent, I like the look of the Soval's nacelles with this design. They've got that angular look that matches the rest of the ship. And, of course, great work on the panels and other stuff as usual.

Is it a research vessel or a warship? Thought I'd ask.

It's a warship.
I promised myself that I wouldn't come up with a new ship until I finished...something.
No such luck. Hee is another roughed out federation ship. I think it's mainly a science/research vessel. I won't know for sure until I do more and it lets me know.

Re: Federation Civil War
Nice. Just from first impressions, it kinda has the look of a large runabout, or The Raven from Voyager.

Yeah I was thinking about the Raven myself after I first drew it up.

Re: Federation Civil War
Cool. The Raven is a cool ship. It's like a big runabout. And it's one of the few civilian Federation ships we ever got to see in the TNG-era.

Re: Federation Civil War
UPDATE...
Thought I'd take another look at my Klingon Bird Of Honor.
The first pics are those who don't remember and don't want to go through the entire thread to find it.
I think I've made a few improvements since the last time I worked on it.

Re: Federation Civil War
I like the look of that better than what you had before. I especially like the asymmetry of some of the details.

I was looking at the BOP and it's details are asymmetrical so I thoight it would be a good idea that the BOH be that way as well.

Thank you.
UPDATE...
I've gone back to another ship and rebuilt the bridge and command decks. I'm much happier with the new version.
