3 D CGI Models and Sets for a Star Trek Fan Film

its been a while since I posted anything of worth, so I am going to make up for it now.

This models posted are for a Star Trek fan film by Fretslayer and with some input of mine.. its a exciting story and idea.

here are some of the models and sets.. I will name all the modelers involved in the images

First up is the Stargazer design by EG180 Chris Martin . and texture in Lightwave by Mikala .. The hanger deck is mine

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

but the main work there was Chris model and Greg (Mikala) Textures

my next model after the Hanger Bay is a Bridge for the Klingon Battle Cruiser

and its main Corridors

next up is the Romulan Side

A federation Ship an Oberth Class ship called Aries which is my most recent

Awesome work on the sets and ships.
If I weren't already part of the project, I'd be asking if I could help.

Well, the process of turning 'The Armageddon Clock' into an animated film just just kicked into high gear.

Principal animation has begun and storyboards have been rendered and sent out to the cast.

We have the most awesome INT sets built by Taranis and some of the coolest ship models out there.

There have been some script revisions and we've sent dialogue off to some of our voice cast.

It's our hope that we'll have a trailer animated and cut that we can share soon.

Taranis - you've done a mega-super job on these sets you've built.
I'd buy you a beer but it's a real long reach from here to there.
LOL!

I'm not a big fan of the fan film thing either, but the story that Taranis and I have crafted is something that we think Trek fans will really dig. It has some pretty complex plot lines and enough action to keep it interesting.

Over the next month or so (give or take) I'm going to try and cut a trailer for it.

I'm still online.
Most of the time if I'm on Yahoo I am in invisible mode because when I come on, I am hit with lots of tech questions and I can't get much work done. LOL!

I don't mind, but there are times when I can't help everybody and still get stuff done on my projects. Next time you're on YIM, fire me a message. If I'm there I will reply to you.

I had to take some time away from the story so I could get something finished up, but now I'm back in the production for "Star Trek: The Armageddon Clock" and hopefully we'll have a trailer cut soon.

Taranis and I have have been retooling parts of the story and he's been burning the midnight oil creating new ships and sets for our film.
I've been writing a bunch of dialogue for our cast and getting scenes prepped in Lw for animation.

We've decided to do all of our EXT SPACE/SHIP Shots in Lightwave and all of our INT and CHARACTER shots in Carrara 8 Pro.

I get really nice results from Carrara when it comes to the EXT SPACE/SHIP shots but even on it's best day, it doesn't come close to the awesomeness of Lightwave when it comes to those shots. I am more comfortable in Carrara than I am in Lightwave so I've been re-familiarizing myself with Lightwave so I can do the best possible work with it.

Also, the decision to move to Lightwave for our EXP SPACE/SHIP shots will allow both myself and Taranis to render the scenes and that will speed up production a lot. It's much easier for us to get friends who have Lightwave to help with these shots than it is finding people who use Carrara and want to help.

So, while there has been this delay in our project, the delay was well worth it.

So, next time you're on YIM give me a shout.

The uniforms are great and I think they're still the ones we're going to use.
The only thing is that we might play around with the color of tunics.
Maybe doing a TOS color scheme with them.
But that is still up in the air and odds are if we do end up shooting some test renders with that idea, we'll bounce them off you to see what you think.

But as it stands now, yes, we're still going with your uniforms.
They look great and as you know, they work really well with the M4 figure.
Needless to say, we've stopped using the M3SR2 figure and switched to the M4 figure for our characters. A major part of that decision was because of your uniforms.

No that's not the one Warrior made .. that was done by a friend of mine so Dan can assemble the cast and crew. there is also a private area for Dan and myself (later other cast members) to meet and chat about the film project here.

It was meant to be very basic and no frills ..

but I see that Dan mentioned that.

I do plan with Dan's Help in the near future to migrate most of the threads over here when appropriate. that will be a while as I am starting a number of projects for this site in mind.

a number of new models and sets .. I just now struggling to fined the time.

there will be a second fan film that I am writing up the first draft . set around the TOS characters. with some frills of my own added. but I don´t want to say too much at the moment.

but the models I will be building is a follows.
It will be a revision if the TOS was been made now. so the models and sets will be given a more modern look.

Quote:
and I hate the jjenterprise with venom ....... i seen great models of it.. but I still hate the design. it ruined the new film for me.
1. USS ENTERPRISE (TOS design with TMP look and feel) the closesd one I can think of is Degs Enterprise.
2. Drydock
3. Bridge
4. Corridors
5. Transporter
6. Engine Room
7. Hanger Deck
8. EVA Suits 2 or 3 versions
etc

I could go on .. I have been pepping for this for about 4 weeks more or less.

I hope that I can ask some modeller here for some help in other areas . chairs and other items.

The internals design I am thing of is along the lines for the Phase 2 series that never was as my inspiration..

What normally kills me is the smaller stuff more then the bigger sets.

But I am start on the Enterprise tomorrow and during that I will be keeping a Log of how I build it for a tutorial in lightwave..... but its more or less a log for me so I can build it again if need be..

some times I forget some modelling trick and only remember after a lot of swearing.

But the main things I will be building my self and in the quickest time possible ...

but I hope to do the textures myself too ..
