Default Graphic novels or Kiddie comics?

OK, here's the question I've been dying to ask:

Do you keep graphic novels/ trade paper back comics on your book shelves with the rest of your great literature, or do you think comics are just pretty pictures for kids and adults who don't want to read?

I used to be a huge comic collector (I had over 2,000 comics in my collection at one time) but have recently cut back.

I've always been serious about books and comics, but more recently I've been selling off the comics. However, I've also begun buying a handful of graphic novels (super-thick comic books or collections of several comic books in one thick comic) and putting them on the shelves in my library.

So again, I ask the question, "Are comics literature worthy of a place on our shelves, or are they fluff?"
