3 D CGI Departure of the Wanderer

The spaceship Wanderer is ready for departure... the flying archology consists of two biospheres connected by a technical section, which includes also a small spaceport. The civil spaceship is accompanied by a destroyer and a fleet of HornetB long distance fighters/explorers.

This picture was inspired by the cover of the Perry Rhodan mag. 2181, which was created by R. Voltz. The scene was also a great opportunity to figure out how to create space objects such as the planet and the nebulae with Vue. Thanks for viewing!

Looks good. I think of Rama when I see this. Must be a huge vessel.

Default About dimensions...

skyhawk,

yesterday I tried to calculate the Wanderer's dimensions. I ended up with about 1km in diameter and 5km in length. Not that big, at least in comparison to the Tula described in PR 2181: 11 x 42km...

I could easily see this as being the Wanderer from David Gerrold's Trek novel, The Galactic Whirlpool...

First of all, thanks to all of you for your nice comments!

BGEN-SirJohn: that's cool... I haven't read that novel yet, but sometimes imagination goes amazing similar ways
