Jupiter Class Main Bridge
Ok folks, I've finally started working on a bridge for Zanith's Jupiter Class. It's based on SeanR's original Ent-F concept bridge, and will continue to be unless Zanith (or I) start to hate it. As usual, I think it's quite a bit too bright, and the colors are much too warm for my tastes, but I wanted to get something out there to show you guys and gals.
(Sunrise on the bridge, anyone? )

Wow... it's very... bright... and also very... umm... beige. :p
I always thought this was an interesting design -- sort of the next step forward from the Sovereign-class, but with some Galaxy-class throwbacks included -- and it was a shame Sean didn't follow through with it. I'm definitely interested to see where you'll take it.

The model looks great, but I have to say that this looks like a step backwards, rather than forwards, in time. It looks closer to the Enterprise refit's bridge than anything.

Tequila sunrise.
Some of the braces between the columns and the horizontal peice right above them are our of place, but it looks good otherwise.

Sean- I noticed that too, I thought my eyes were just playing tricks.
Bernardo - I dont think it's so far fetched, I mean, some of the design elements are indeed the same, but it's pretty pompus to think that starfleet would ONLY use them on Enterprise. And besides, the design work on the the Galaxy class started in 2343, a full 20 years before the Enterprise-D launched in 2363. I would assume that that a design started not TOO long after (as I'm assuming the Jupiter was) could easily have some carry-over. And besides, look at the Nova and Prometheus Class bridge modules, that basically a ST:TUC Constitution/Excelsior bridge anyway. Talk about a step backwards

Ok, not much of an update, but I changed the colors to a more "cold" scheme(forgot the chairs, oops!). It didn't work out quite as I had expected, but no matter, it will get better with time. The problem with Global Illum. is that it's not fast, you have to wait awhile to see results, so 'quick' changes dont really happen. A few other things changed, mostly to decrease render speed. I'll do more tomarrow.

I like the *feel* of the other color, and that it's harder to reproduce, especially in a cold color like grey. I dunno, it will morph as I continue, I've found adding the computer stations to a scene change everything, so we'll see how it goes

i bet a little blue would warm that grey right up and wood paneling like on the tng bridge would give it more appeal!

I liked the colors from the Enterprise-D bridge in Generations. And some of the colors used in the Ent-E bridge in Nemesis.

No, I just can't seem to get anything about it to work right. The consoles are giving me headaches. I dont know what style to use. I'll try to get an update soon.

I like the style you are currently using on the helm and nav consoles. I think the rest of the bridge should take on an Ent-E or Ent-D style with the wall consoles, etc. You can see in my over view some of the console shapes. Want me to draw some more??

Mercutio, pompous (notice the spelling)? You realize, of course, I don't work on the Enterprise. Read my thread, mate. I said it's a step backwards in time. The Enterprise refit's bridge was built a good century before these dates of yours.
