Default Swamp Planet

Hello to everyone,

I'm quite new to this forum, and saw a lot of great pictures here. And here is my first contribution.

Swamp Planet

The picture is part of a loose storyline I've started a while ago. Not my latest pic, but still one of my favourites. Thanks for viewing!

Thanks for the nice welcome and your comments

XmESs:

More pictures and freebees for Poser are located at my homepage (see the 3D section).

Thomas P:

I'm using a mix of applications.
* Modelling of spacesuit and ships: Highlight Professional (a quite old German software)
* Characters and detail assembly: Poser 4
* Scene setting and rendering: Vue d'Esprit 4

Default Highlight

XmESs:

Yep, some things do never die, they just fade out

In fact it's quite surprising that this software is still operating with the current OSs... But I should really start looking for a new modeller. Without Boolean Ops, HL makes each hole in an object a true challenge

That's some fine work you've got on your site!

I especially like the mountain scene, with the snow. Great work on selling the settings of the images...

Kind of reminds me of some of the Chris Foss and Co. images of the 1970's in style.

Very nice.

Thank you all for your nice feedback!

General Phoenix:

Creating freebees from objects used in my scenes provides me with some extra-feedback: usually it's interesting to see how people use them for their pictures...

Actually, I meant "selling the settings" as in making the environments seem more detailed and realistic.

General Phoenix:

Well, I saw two possible interpretations of your reply. Of course I've chosen the wrong one

The picture's sequel is already online, here a shortcut to my gallery:

Not bad. Is that water, or fog that her leg is in?

skyhawk223:

It's water. I was actually quite surprised that Vue is able to realize that effect via a simple water surface.

BRUTUS:

Thanks for the nice words. The composition is -rarely enough- nearly exactly the one I had in mind when I got the idea for the picture. I tried it - and liked it, very efficient

Crusader,

yep, I've posted here at 3DG the picture 'About Home'. My main picture gallery and some Poser freebees (including the spaceship) are available on my homepage (see the 3D/Raytracing section).

Have fun!
