The stardrive and saucer sections are different parts of the ship.

So, are you wanting studio stills only? I've got schematics. Hell, I've got the freakin' blueprints, but those wont' fit on the scanner plate.

Blue prints would be very helpful. Thanks...
But I think you would agree there is nothing like multi angles of the model. It seems like the one thing they haven't shot to death with pictures.

Yeah, they don't hit the connector between the saucer and stardrive sections very often. I have the "official" plans in the tech manual, but I'll see if one of my usual bp sources got the actual blueprints online yet. Last time I looked, it was "under construction" but I can check again. If not, I'll scan those plans. I don't have a large enough scanner to get the bp sheets or I'd scan those in.

Damn site has the bps, but you can't click on the thumbnails and get the larger sheets and I figure thumbnails won't help you. Have you seen this page? http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/galaxy1.htm

Yeah. The problem with the Galaxy is getting accurate blueprints. The actual TNG blueprints are the only truly accurate ones I know of.

Well... Might as well start getting some reviews. Started this late Thursday night. (this is another one of those "take a break" projects).
Its still very very rough. I need to reduce the thickness of the back of the saucer where it meets the dorsal. Couple of other things too.
Um... EG180... Could you move this to the WIPS area and remove "tutorial" from the title. Thanks

Thanks... Been avoiding doing a cannon ship. The advantage of building an original design is that you can say "Oh I meant to do that" if something go's wrong.

LOL, that's true. However, when doing canon, if someone says "Hey, that's wrong," you just say "Yeah, I've modified the design slightly."

Not in this case... I'm going to be picky about accuracy on this one. Thats why I was asking for all the shots from Christie's.

Not too detailed yet but still good. There's a great Galaxy class mesh available, unfortunately, it is in Lightwave format so I can't use it, but you might be able to use
it to get an idea of the location of all the detail. You can get it from here .

Thanks... But I have all those pictures from the original model. They just don't show the battle bridge area.
EG... any luck with scanning those blueprints?

The blueprints are too large to fit on the scanner plate as a whole, but I might be able to get the battle bridge configuration on there. It should be small enough and some creative placement should do the trick.

The Enterprise blueprints? They sold the complete Enterprise-D blueprints on 13 22inch by 34inch sheets about ten years or so ago. I picked them up sometime around then. I've got them out and I'm looking for the battle bridge section now.

Well, the blueprints have the deck plans for the battle bridge and cobra head area, but not the external arrangement. I'll see if I can find my technical manual for TNG. I think it at least has a drawing of the stardrive section without the saucer attached.

You know... Right now I'm kicking myself for loosing that big a** cut away poster I had growing up. Kept that thing in its plastic for years, made sure not to put it in the sun, I move to a new area... it didn't.

NP, man. I really don't use that book for much anyway, since I don't have the stones to attempt the 1701-D.

I'm trying to figure out why I never noticed that. And I've had that book for around 10 years.
