The black hole robots?
Forgive me if this questions has already been asked, but who made the black hole robots that we see on the forum here?
Are they available for download?

I don't know about the mesh of "Bob" but the "Vincent" one was done by Richard Turvey. Looking at the image the textures, or lack thereof, on "Bob" suggest it's just a kit bash of "Vincent". Richard did a newer better version of the mesh but never got around to releasing it before he gave up on visiting boards like this. I used to work with him and still see him very occasionally so I can ask him about it if anyone is interested. He still does 3d work as a hobby he just doesn't show it online anymore.

A group of friends and I were just discussing 'The Black Hole.' I know as science it is very lacking, however I find this movie still to be very entertaining, even to this day. I remember seeing it at the theather as a kid, and it has always held something to me.
Seeing the Robots on here gave me a chuckle.

Hello folks. Darrell sent me a link to this page so here I am. I'm buggered if I know why you want this crappy little mesh, it was my very first one by the way, but you're welcome to it if you like. I've just added it to the downloads so once Darrell has a chance to validate it it's all yours. In the scifi other category
It is only the original version by the way. I did make a much better version but the file became corrupted quite some time ago. I do still have some of the work in progress files so I probably will do it again some day soon. He is my little mascot after all. ( I have the unpainted model above my desk)
Richard.

FYI, folks, ricktu only made the V.I.N.C.E.N.T. in that Forum Category image. B.O.B. is an incomplete Poser model. I do not recall who made it, so it's not available.
The V.I.N.C.E.N.T. one by ricktu is now available in the Downloads.

I remember "The Black Hole." I was living in Pensacola and we packed up the kids and went to the drive-in. I found the Cygnus as a poser model at "Vanishing Point". I have been looking for the Palomino. And I love Maximillian, he use looks evil.

The Black Hole was cool.....when I was nine. Saw it a couple of years ago and it seemed like it had SO much unused potential. Wouldn't mind seeing a remake of that one......well, maybe I would.

A Maximilian mesh would be pretty cool.
It would be a lot of fun to animate those arms with the blades on them.

There are no meshes of Maximillian that I am aware of. I did start one many years ago but it was not turning out well so I scrapped it. It is on my list of things to do but have a few things in front of it and I am a very slow modellor. Mostly due to lack of time than anything else. I did make a low detail version of the Palimino though. I also started working on a version of the Cygnus but that one also stalled.
Once I finish my current project (or need a break from it), the Jupiter 2, I hope to get back to V.I.N.Cent 2.
Richard.

Great looking meshes so far. I wanted to do some shots with your V.I.N.Cent model a while back, but both of the versions of tS I have won't import the LW 5.6 mesh for some reason or another. Anim8or wouldn't import it either. I guess I'll have to build my own sometime. Whatcha got in the way of source material?

I used a plastic model kit that I imported from the US. It wasn't too expensive but this was 6 or 7 years ago so I've no idea if they are still available.

Thanks. I can probably find it at a hobby store in the area. There are a number around here that have older kits as well as the newer ones. I have the movie, but I don't just want to do the mesh with screengrabs, assuming I do it at all.

Coolness... I wouldn't mind seeing that movie again, and I'm sure that a remake wouldn't hurt one bit. Specially since there's so much to it that wasn't fully explored. Great meshwork here... I'm hoping someone will get around to building Maximillian.
Cheers! — Möe

Yeah, I don't think Disney will be doing a remake any time soon. They're downsizing to avoid going out altogether (it was on the news the other day.) Of course, one problem could be that their plan to save the studio with all of those crappy sequels backfired and got them in trouble worse than they were before.

Yeah, the happiest place on earth isn't so happy because they're not lining their pockets with American greenbacks.
