Apollo 11 July 16, 1969.
One of mankind's greatest accomplishments. Sending men to the Moon and safely get them back.. and tomorrow is the 40th anniversary. The Apollo 11 carried Mission Commander Neil Alden Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin Eugene 'Buzz' Aldrin, Jr.
On July 20, Armstrong and Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the Moon, while Collins orbited above.
using computers the possibly have less computing power than a cheap PC or pocket calculator.
it gave use the first views of Earth from the moon and brought the world together as never before. The triumph of America became the triumph of the world.
the accomplishments made by NASA and the family's of the Astronauts marks the finest example of what humanity can do. But the over all Glory and Triumph goes to the Men....... That took the chance and accepted the Challenge.
