Dennis Bailey's Dawnstar Class- Remodelled
Hi all, this is my first post here at 3DG. Those of you who don't know me, I'm a member at Scifi-meshes.com.
Anyway, I was quite taken with the design of Dennis's original Dawnstar mesh, and decided I just had to model it. I did ask permission of course, the answer was yes, and I decided to post the WIP here on Dennis's suggestion that I do so.
Anyway, here's what I have so far. I'm sticking pretty closely to the original design, but will deviate from it in certain areas.
And so it begins....

Welcome JDR. Nice to have you here.
First off, I would like to see your progress, but one can only view the ship if you are a scifi-meshes member of which I am not. Also, might not want to link as it does take up bandwidth.
I am interested in seeing the ship. Do you have some web space that you can upload the images to, then link to that?

You could just link to the thread you posted in - that way we could view the images without having to go through the whole registration process...

Ooops!
^Okay, I didn't realize you wouldn't be able to see the pics. Damn, I think you still won;t be able to view the pics even if I link to the forum: the new version of VB doesn't allow non-members to view pics for some reason.
Okay, anyone know of a free picture-hosting site that I can upload my WIP images to? I don't have any web space of my own.

I'll lend you some space, as long as you don't use a lot of bandwidth. PM me and I'll sort it out.

Okay, sorry about the delay in updates. I know most of you are unable to see the images, but thanks to Proximo, I can show them to you now.
Feedback and criticism are welcome.

Looks pretty true to the original so far. One question, though...why remake the ship?

^@ both posts above:
Why remake the ship? Well, so I can make a really clean new mesh with modelled details. The original mesh is such a great design, but its pretty old now, and I reckon this could be done to the quality of say, EBOLII, Hobbes or Vektor's superb models.
And as for purple, I'm going for blue warp grills. Maybe I'll put a hint of purple in there as an homage to the original, but we'll see.
