Jedi Knight: Jedi Betrayal
A Jedi Academy Modification.
I'm working with a small team of Quake 3 engine modders, making a mod for Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and we're looking to recruit talented and creative people to work long hours on often difficult parts of the project. It's seriously fun though!
We need:
3D animators
2D texture artists
Low and high poly modellers
Digital and traditional concept artists
...And so on.
If you're a Star Wars fan or just good at what you do and interested in being part of a cool team and talented enough to have found 3D Gladiators then we could definitely use you! Naturally there is no money involved, service is it's own reward! You will get full credit and a lot of creative control over your work. We can provide all the support needed if you aren't familiar with the game itself.
You can apply here: Jedi Betrayal Forum
(Note to moderators: Am new to forums - please edit as you see fit. Credits will include www.3dgladiators.net of course!)

"What is the main app?"
It's a game and it's presentation we're working on. Outside of that we use many applications and there are as many functions for new team members to fill. So it's the people and their enthusiasm and creativity we're looking for, not necessarily particular skill sets.
I'm sorry to sound vague about it, but whatever programs prospective recruitees utilise will probably be an asset to the team.

Re: Jedi Knight: Jedi Betrayal
Well the game is Quake 3 engine, which our current team knows different areas of so we can instruct where it's needed as to how that all works and appears as part of the game.
Yes a max/maya/lightwave person would be right at home making models, both high and low poly, that we could export as a Q3 native like md3 or use the high poly model in art or video surrounding the presentation of the game.
So we'll take model builders (for example) in any program, then export it and export it again to what we need it to be.

Re: Jedi Knight: Jedi Betrayal
Game development 3D modeling software is usually doers' choice because you always have to convert the models to whatever format your game engine is using.
It sounds like an interesting project, though I lost interest in the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series a couple years ago. I got Star Wars: The Best of PC for (you guessed it) the PC and it comes with Jedi Outcast. I played it for a while but it lost its allure after a while. But, good luck with your project, I hope it goes well for you.
