COOL 3DGs Musical Corner (updated Daily) "What are you Listening to".

This has been a popular thread on a few of the sites that I hang around at.

As you work on your model or animation or image
what has you inspired today

Change the name .. to "3DGs Musical Corner"

anyone have a better one

Rule 1. I you post a link credit the composer, singer or film. just as you would with a
mesh or you should
Rule 2. No belittling or derogatory comments on member musical preferences (its a sad world sometime)
Rule 3. No link that could possibly offend (if in doubt don´t post link)

Tomorrow may be The Last Starfighter theme or Star Trek: First Contact theme (I love that particular them). Maybe some good ol rock-n-roll too.

Feeling a little melancholy today . So I have been listening to the OST from Charley Chaplin today .. music of note is "Smile" which was apparently written by Chaplin or the words anyway.

It is sang by Robert Downey Jr. he not bad I have to say..

Also the instrumental is by another of my top composers John Barry of the James Bond films.

instrumental

Robert Downey Jr

Have you seen the film .. I loved it. normally I am not one for biography's but I was always a fan of Chaplin and could not resist seen it.
Quote:
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky
you'll get by.

If you smile through your pain and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun shining through
For you.

Light up your face with gladness,
Hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying.
You'll find that life is still worthwhile-
If you just smile
Talented man

Tomorrow ..... what will it be...... what are you listen too today.

Your DJ

Decided to add a festive tune and something that we will all soon been hearing in may parts of the world over the next few hours .. not something you model or render too but its the end of another year and the beginning of another.. 2011

wish you all the best in 2011

BBC Symphony, Chorus & Singers - Auld Lang Syne
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rId95...layer_embedded

happy new year 2011

Quote:
"Auld Lang Syne" is a Scots poem written by Robert Burns in 1788[2] and set to the tune of a traditional folk song (Roud # 6294). It is well known in many English-speaking (and other) countries and is often sung to celebrate the start of the New Year at the stroke of midnight. By extension, its use has also become common at funerals, graduations, and as a farewell or ending to other occasions.
The song's Scots title may be translated into English literally as "old long since", or more idiomatically, "long long ago",[3] "days gone by" or "old times". Consequently "For auld lang syne", as it appears in the first line of the chorus, is loosely translated as "for old times sake"

That is so funny to find this thread. I almost never listen to music when I work, but for inspiration, Need for Speed soundtracks and of course, sci-fi themes. DS9, although short, is still one of the best written pieces, along with T2 theme.

Fun foot tapping piece. I have dance to this and had a great time, one of the few times I have only danced with Men and had my Wife in hysterics as I can be a bit of a play actor with enough wine.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AzpH...layer_embedded

Here is a clip from the film of the same name. its a story of friendship and change

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpOAn...layer_embedded

some of my favourite quotes come from this film
By Zorba:
"A man needs a little madness...or else...he never dares cut the rope and be free"
when asked if he is married
"Am I not a man? And is not a man stupid? I’m a man. So I married. Wife, children, house, everything. The full catastrophe."

Had to share this discovery. long forgotten but the music I remember well... from the MAESTRO Ennio Morricone.
A true master of this field and one of the most versatile.

Marco Polo. for TV Ennio Morricone Soundtrack
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkjiOUocLFg&NR=1

Morricone really brings something magical to his music.
this is a wonderful example of that skill.

this is another version of the theme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuO2VFga5Ww&NR=1

1982 .. I was 12 and enjoyed this TV show a lot and surprised and delighted to see Leonard Nimoy in the cast. also one of the shows that opened my eyes to the larger world and the people on it.

We will be hearing more from him over time...

he heads the ranks of masters like Goldsmith, Williams, Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard

please post comments if you like something and your thought if you have a moment. I enjoy this music and Hope you do to.

any request for me to locate music to share I will. but you you can also post youtube link if you what use to shay your joy in music.

it does not have to be film only,
