Buck Rogers - Searcher
After some time that I promised to Taranis, here it goes the revamp of an old wip. The basic shape is there, but still there is a lot to go before I finish her. Due to the small freetime that Ihave in my hands, it will be a looooong wip.

Re: Buck Rogers - Searcher
This needs a reimaged version. If the Galactica can get a ribcage version, then why not the Searcher?

Very nice Starship.
Nice to see something other than Buck's ship or Marauder's being built.

Re: Buck Rogers - Searcher
Playing devil's advocate, I found this vessel, well, expedient. It was just hastily redressed from the space-liner featured in the first season.
I'm not down-playing the modeling skills presented here, oh, no. I just feel the ship itself, as well as the bridge set and other design aspects of the second season were done "on the cheap".
Sincerely,
Bill

well there is truth in what you say and for the most past as far as I heard that both Gil Gerard and Erin Gray where not happy with many aspects of the production.
Gil Gerard as far as I know or read was never really happy with many aspects of the shows format.
James Bond in space type of thing for Buck(I love it all the more now)
he would have liked to do more transition stories about buck time in the 25th century.
but the effect of the second season where done cheaply as possible.
but I still like the design.
I was at one time building a hanger for this model but that also lost in a crash.

I know 03 of them, but just one was a public release, and it´s available at Foundation3d. The second one, is older, built by Thomas ( http://tommy.elitegamer.com/www/3Dim...ers/hawk09.htm) and it´s pretty cool. I´m lucky enough to have it (private release).
The third is, in fact, the more perfect. The mesh owner said it could be released, but I never heared news from him after that. Maybe one day...

Forgot to metion...
Good news: I found who own the original Searcher!
Bad news: the model is packed, and the owner won´t unpack it at this time. Maybe in the future he said.

Re: Buck Rogers - Searcher
You can always to try: http://www.battlebuck.com/
I sent an e-mail for him last week. Still no answer. Already asked James Small too, but he don´t have nothing about the Searcher. He just did the photos.
As a curiosity: looks like there was an exibition about sci-fi, included Buck Rogers. Don´t know the date: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jjackowski/4258147465/

Mark Dickson take other photos from rare scifi filming miniatures, like the Eastern Alliance Destroyer, from Galactica: http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=13924

Re: Buck Rogers - Searcher
The Draconia is a model I'd really like to see. I worked in a space themed restaurant in the 80's called the 'Buck Rogers burger station'. We had the original cinema version of the film playing on the big screen in the Restaurant two or three times a day. I can still recite the whole screenplay to this day.
