Larson Class Destroyer
A new ship I'm working based on one of the ships from Fasa's Star Trek Role Playing Game, Ship Recognition Manual.
I decided to base this on the mesh that Vector made, just because I like the look of it so much. So that is my primary referance besides the book I have for the design.

Not too bad. Whenever I hear Larson I think of the old Mtrek game.
What do you have in mind for texturing? They tend to be fairly simple for that era of ship.

Now that I've built it, I do think it is kind of a nifty design. I plan on doing some of the others since I'll have the parts when I finish this.
I haven't given too much thought about the textures other than how the hell will I do the bussards.

Nice job, Ive always liked this little design and you have done a great job so far. Bussards are no fun but the rest should be straight forward (easy for me to say huh ).

UPDATE...
I've finished the warp pylons by putting a little detail on the inside of the them. I also added the two aft shuttlebays.
The bottom saucer windows have been added.
The impulse assembly is finished and the bridge is shaping up. Phasers and torpedoe launchers are added.

UPDATE...
As far as I'm concerned the build of this ship is done. This will now move into my needs to be textured folder. Where it will probably sit for a short time while I work some more on my Griffin Class ship. I may still tweak a few thing here and there.
And just for fun.

Seems to be missing detail on the struts. There's nothing there in any of the illustrations?

There's no detail that I saw on the drawings so I put some on the underside of the warp pylons. There's also no detail on the secondary hull. I thought that kept better to the design of the TOS ships. So the textures will really have to sell those parts.

Introducing the Nelson Class Scout.
This is another ship that put together since I had most of the parts already built.

I clicked in on this the other day . . . nice progress here
XFoss you are doing a hec of a job on this thing, I only have one issue maybe it's me but the stryts seem a bit weak for what they are supporting. maybe it's just the angle of the shots but it like trying to hold the space shuttles solid rocket boosters down with duct tape.
I't like at warp 2 the engine detaches . . . D'oh!

They do look thin but that's the way I interpret the designs they're based on. Plus I think the struts on the TOS Enterprise are rather thin to. Come to think about it the struts for the Movie Enterprise look very thin to.

The scout version is a logical progression, but I think you put too much work in it. Just flip the Larson class over.

I remember when I tried to do a Larson in a certain free modeller... Let's say that yours is million times better.

Im not a huge star trek fan but the look of that ship is awesome. I love that the engine is fixed above the main part of the ship. Gives it a very foreboding look. Nice work man.

Great work. Those textures are phenomenal. One question though. What is causing the red glow on the upper part of the saucer underneath the engine?

That will eventually be coming from the bussard when I get around to doing that texture.

UPDATE...
The bottom of the saucer is finished....I think.
The beginning of the textures for the secondary hull.
Close to being finished with the texture.
How it should look. It could probably be tweaked a bit.

UPDATE...
The impulse engines are finished and progress on the warp engine has started.
And here is the problem I currently have run into.
Other than that the textures are working fine for me.
