AEROTECH Design Project 2700, 2800 and 2900
I've started with my version of the Terran SPACE ABOVE AND BEYOND carrier.
The first two renders shows the Mass-Cannon in transport-position - the last two renders in firing-position.
I've made some modifications to the original, because in the show the Mass-Cannon moves through massive objects (and I didn't like things like that). I set it also on a rail, because it should not "hover" over the flattop. So I made also the base of the superstructure a little bit smaller.
My goal is to create some different versions of the carrier.
- The (nearly) original 2800-Design (USS SARATOGA)
- The 2700-Design (An earlier version in my Fan-Fiction SPACE 2064)
- The 2900-Design (A newer version in my Fan-Fiction SPACE 2064)
The 2700 and the 2900 version will have different weapon-configurations. I hope it looks good in the end.
I've seen a few weeks ago, in the episode SUGAR DIRT that the USS EISENHOWER has two more hangar-bay-sections in the front-sector and also two mass-cannon and not one, like the USS SARATOGA. Aside from that the EISENHOWER has it's Rocket-Launchers both in front of the flattop, between the mass-cannons.
Maybe I create also this carrier later - so I've modified a downloaded top-view and side-view and found out, that the EISENHOWER must have a length of 576 Meters (round about). The SARATOGA has a length of 525,4 Meters.
Original Design:

Oh hell yeah!
The only other S-AaB models I know of are hosted right here at 3DG!

Yes, cool mesh - I've used it for a scene in 2008.
But for my Fan-Fiction SPACE 2064 I also use some versions with different modifications. The 2700-Design and the 2900-Design.
When this mesh is ready I plan to create two of the smaller vessels. There are no meshes to find in the WWW - just a few fan-side-views. I've made a bunch of Screenshots from the two cruisers (in the red and yellow frames).
From the SCHWARTZKOPF (green frame) I have the mesh from this site. Cooler than the original-design for my taste.

Yeah!
So - the mesh has over a million polygons now (and I have just started).

Re: AEROTECH Design Project 2700, 2800 and 2900
That series has to be one of the hardest to make meshes for, since the only sources I know of is screen shots, and that quality is lacking (ie, not HD).

Unfortunately true.
But - thank God - I've average skills in sketching...
It's not easy - but it's possible - to create usable orthos by myself with a pencil and scan it later, to build this both cruisers.

I have it on DVD.
The open end is a horror for fans of the show - but a great chance for fan-authors, like me.

Re: AEROTECH Design Project 2700, 2800 and 2900
Some more details.
I think, I have it for the flattop, aside the position lights (and maybe a few little details I have forgotten now).
Next step: The middle-part, the hangar-sections, the engines and the lower antenna.
Last step: The lower details, the position lights and the four pylons with lights and 50MW-Laserturrets.

Many thanx.
So - the color-textures are on the mesh. Spec-maps and bump-maps are missing jet. At last I will add the textures fot the Reg.-Number and the Name.
Some minor modifications in the end and 56 point-lights for the lamps in the Layout-Editor - and the SARATOGA can go into action.

Re: AEROTECH Design Project 2700, 2800 and 2900
More to drool...
I've made my own version of the Gunship-Class.
Without any canon-measures, I used this measures for the ship:
- length = 243 Meters (with antennas)
- width = 140 Meters
- height = 78 Meters
In the coffee break I 've made also my own Chig-Carrier.

Okay - two Renders with the complete Battlegroup.
The first pic is more a beauty-shot.
The second scene is from my Fan-Fiction, where the German Battlegroup arrives at Planet "2063-Yankee", two days after Vansen manages to land the cockpit of the troopship safely.

Re: AEROTECH Design Project 2700, 2800 and 2900
Another day - another mesh...
I've started with the ISSCV/APC Troop-Transporter.
At the editor-picture you can see that I've, unlike Jeff, used 4 different objects for the cockpit. Because I'm not a friend of UV-texturing. It's better for me to handle it for texturing in the end by creating it this way.

Re: AEROTECH Design Project 2700, 2800 and 2900
Details, details...
The FlaK will follow and also the two guns under the cockpit and some cockpit-details. Also some details at the wing-thruster are missing yet and some at the tail.
When I have the cargo-module I'll add the bulkhead at the rear part of the cockpit and the inner part of the tail. Also the cockpit-thruster and maybe the clamps.
The mesh so far...

Re: AEROTECH Design Project 2700, 2800 and 2900
The Transporter is nearly ready.
Now I'll create some cargo-modules.
I've turned the wing-thruster into flight position for this render.

That second image... I can visualize the Eagle from Space: 1999 as the smaller vessel

I've used a length of 26 Meters for the transporter.
I think, the SPACE 1999 Eagle has a length of 30 - 32 Meters (round about).
New stuff:
Here is the last ship of the line - the Frigate (Escort) Class.
I've made some more changes by creating this ship-class, because this two big pipes, that was to see in the show in front and under the ship were much too big for cannons (and much more much too big for antennas) for this little Frigate.
So I've given this class (for using in my SPACE 2064 Fanon) two greater Laser-Turrets with one cannon and two smaller turrets with two cannons.
Also some details were not good to identify, so I've used my imagination for creating some of it.

I don't recognize that one.

No - the mesh from Jeff is cool and I didn't need it as a permanent fleet-vessel. For my taste, it should just transport goods from one planet to another.
I've completed my little fleet with the SA-43, the SA-43-X (that I've created for my Fanon) and the Standard-Chigfighter. (It's not my intention yet, to build also the Stealth-Chigighter of "Chiggy von Richthofen" - maybe sometimes...)
In my Fanon the SA-43-X has two heavy energy-cannons and two medium energy-cannons, based on sto... located Chig-Technology that AEROTECH has assimilated. The firepower of the SA-43-X equates 80-82 percent of the Stealth-Chigfigters firepower. But the Terrans have not much time to test the new fighters before the Chigs will attack them with a complete squad of their new fighters...
I've made also a scene with my Chig-Carrier and my new Chigfighter.
