Landing legs. Now I have visions of claw-foot bathtub feet. But yeah, you can see the gear housing on the understide shot.

I love it. really cool design. from the side, it's almost like a submarine without the conning tower....low radar cross section. great work.

engine deck done
I don't think I'm going to add any more parts to the engine deck.
Now I got to work my way up the midship section.
Didn't like that brown color either.

Work on the upper midship portion and gun bay.
I hate greebles. The more you add, the slower the program runs. So I have to come to a compromise about how much to add verses how much detail will be able to be seen from far moderately far shots. Too much small detail will be lost in blur. So I can forgo that. Although a little more detail could be applied forward of the atmospheric radiators in that blank space.
After importing my 6 foot sitting figure, I noticed how small this ship really is. The gun bay will probably be one open space for both cannons in a zero G environment. I've been developing the ship's captain and have ideas about the two crew gunners and may post art on them sooner or later. Plus I might call the ship the Coronet Lightening, which is the name of an Air Force exercise.
And I fixed the shadow problem. Amazing that sometimes the Help files actually do help. And I've been making copies for Moray/POV-Ray renders which will give me better control over texturing and lighting.

I never finish anything. hehe
This ship is one of a many vehicles I'm designing for my above-mentioned fanfic. Currently all my creativity is employed in this endevour, so I will get back to this ship eventually. But it may be months away, or next year.

Well, I'm busy. I'm writting, not only the rough draft of the novel, but associated short stories as well, I'm doing numerous character sketches, and designing (sketching and modeling) up to four different ships. Not to mention research, and building a website that will showcase all this.
It will be well worth the patience and the wait.

The story is getting written rather slowly.
I was surprised to see these links working again. The website is back up, but I can't log in to ftp so there wont be any new updates of any of my work for a while.

I don't really know what happened to the site. The webspace was given to me by Tachy way back when, I have haven't been in contact with him in over a year. So I'm treating that webspace as a loss. I have not finished this ship yet. There are other ships as well that I have started on for this story but have not completed. Once I get everything done and the website that I'm currently building complete and ready, I'll fork over the money and upgrade my tripod account and send it there.
I'll have charracters, maps, ships, and a bunch more for viewing pleasure. Just don't expect it this year.
