SH'Owzar Warship

I decided to not place any new designs in my UEG Universe thread simply because it's too large and I don't feel that people want to go through all those pages and images for what might only be a small update. I will only continue that thread untill I finish the meshs in that thread.

So anyway I've begun to work on the engine of what I hope will become the SH'Owzar warship. My first Idea was, what if V'ger from Star Trek The Motion Picture was built as a warship. It won't actually look like V'ger but that was the idea that set it off.

Do you mean the V'Ger from the special edition, or the design from the non-enhanced movie?

XFozzboute April 14th, 2004 01:14 PM

Just V'Ger in general. Either one will do.

moovok April 14th, 2004 02:36 PM

Well, I thought V'Ger was expanded upon during its travels, and near the end, one technological race (which if you think about it, could have been the Borg - you never know, hence the ship coming to Earth).

But why would a warship build ontop of it? Then again, not watched the Motion Picture that much, so could be totally wrong!

XFozzboute April 14th, 2004 03:26 PM

This is only based on V'Ger and actually doesn't have anything to do with Star Trek at all.

UPDATE...
The actual nozel part of the engine is done.
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu434.jpghttp://www.primscrwpro.com/myu435.jpg
Just thought I'd throw this shot in.
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu436.jpg
Now I'll focus on the panels that outline the engine nozel.

skyhawk223 April 15th, 2004 05:33 AM

The nozzle looks great so far. Why is it your stuff looks so good even without textures?

XFozzboute April 15th, 2004 10:17 AM

Just lucky I guess. :D Just noticed I spelled nozzle wrong. LOL

General Phoenix April 16th, 2004 01:10 PM

I think it's because he models every rivet and panel line - no textures required. :D

XFozzboute April 16th, 2004 03:10 PM

:D I wouldn't go that far. :D

XFozzboute April 16th, 2004 05:17 PM

UPDATE...
More work done on the interior of the one of the inner panels. I don't think there will be more to this part of the panel since most of it won't be seen that far back because of the engine nozzle.

UPDATE...
Work on the inner panels are done.
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu441.jpghttp://www.primscrwpro.com/myu442.jpg
And this is how they look.

XFozzboute April 18th, 2004 03:43 PM

UPDATE...
I've not got the outer panels into position. I still have to work on how they connect to the nozzle, but I'll come up with something. i Hope. :D
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu445.jpghttp://www.primscrwpro.com/myu446.jpg
I've begun a little work farther down the back of the ship.
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu447.jpg

skyhawk223 April 19th, 2004 05:59 AM

You could just display the nozzle and tell people you are finished with the ship and people would believe you. Great work so far.

XFozzboute April 19th, 2004 02:00 PM

That's a great Idea. I quess I'm done then. :D

General Phoenix April 19th, 2004 09:31 PM

I was thinking the same thing - there's probably as much time and detail in that engine assembly as there is in most whole starship meshes. :)

Keep it comin'!

XFozzboute April 19th, 2004 11:41 PM

Oh nuts. I guess I'll have to keep it up for the rest of the ship. :D

skyhawk223 April 20th, 2004 05:26 AM

Of course you do, because some of us know better :)

Proximo April 20th, 2004 06:33 AM

I've spread that much detail around two or three meshes... :D

I have the utmost respect for someone who can make an untextured engine nozel look huge. I mean it. That thing looks massive... :)

Elowan April 20th, 2004 08:53 AM

The Mad Man is at it again! Looks great!! :muffit:

I wanted the thing to look big so I'm glad too see it works. Only problem is I'm having trouble wrestling with it already, but I'm sure I can make it submit to my demands. :D

General Phoenix April 20th, 2004 06:12 PM

Perhaps you should buy it jewelry - it's worked for me in the past. ;)

XFozzboute April 21st, 2004 01:57 PM

I'll buy it some beer- it's worked for me in the past. :D

Chris B April 21st, 2004 02:47 PM

wow, love the details - great job, fozzy!

XFozzboute April 24th, 2004 09:05 PM

Thanks.
UPDATE...
It's been awhile since my last update but I wanted to make sure it was something more than a minor change.
First off the poly count.
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu448.jpgAfter a bit of work to reduce that number.
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu449.jpg
The outer panels are done so I've gotten started on more of the ship, including what I'm calling the command center/bridge section. I wasn't too sure about the shark fin part I added but it's beginning to grow on me and I like it. So far I'm happy with the way it's turning out. I'm thinking I might do a snub nose escort/frigate version of the ship because I kind of like the way it looks right now. But the final warship version will have be about twice this size.

UPDATE...
I'm getting close to finishing the outer part surrounding the engine.
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu453.jpghttp://www.primscrwpro.com/myu454.jpg
I little texture work.

Atolm April 27th, 2004 10:47 AM

This is becoming very promising a warship from V'Ger's serragate world....Crazy
I sure hate to be in this things path
Awesome work mate

XFozzboute April 29th, 2004 09:09 PM

UPDATE...
Here's a nice profile shot and a bit of a size comparison with the SH'Owzar fighter. I think it looks good so far.
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu456.jpg
I've added some small weapon pods.
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu457.jpg
And a closer look at the weapon pods.
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu458.jpg
A look at what I'm thinking for for the front of the smaller version of this ship.
http://www.primscrwpro.com/myu459.jpg

skyhawk223 April 30th, 2004 05:35 AM

Are those weapons pods fixed, or can they move?
Fairly massive ship.

XFozzboute April 30th, 2004 09:14 AM

They do have a small degree of movement. Mainly meant to pick off fighters, missiles and other small craft that are stupid enough to get too close.
