Hey DO! LTNS
Model is looking good. Not having followed SG for a while now, where does that fit into the SG uni?

Thanks!. I got your email saying the forums had been upgraded etc, and decided to pop in. Been kind of busy and realized it has been a very long time since I posted. So here I am.
the model:
It's fairly new. A couple of seasons back, the Air Force built a Hyperspace cruiser the Prometheus (X303) using A rare but unstable variant of Naquida (Guaold power source) to power the hyperdrive engines.
Prometheus was slow, not all that powerful. Engines had issues.
Since then, (last season) They built a newer model, the Daedelus. The Daedelus is equipped with Asgaard Hyperdrive engines, Asgaard sheilds, and Asgaard transporters.
On it's own power, the Daedelus can travel from Earth to the Pegasus galaxy in 3 weeks. If they have a ZPM installed (Ancients power source) they can make the trip in 4 days.
Currently Earth has 3 of these ships, the Daedelus, Odyssey and the Russian ship Korolev.
Each ship carries 16 F-302 Fighters.
Daedelus is primarily assigned to Atlantis, as is an Ancient warship.

Thanks for coming back by and checking things out Hope you like
About the ship: Sounds cool. When I can afford it, Season DVD's will come my way, so I'll eventually get caught up on the SG tech/ships/etc..
Meantime, hope you keep us up to date on the progress of this fine piece of work.

heh heh, thanks....
And a small update. I have 4 boys, 11 years of age and under so once they got up yesterday, I didn't have nearly the free time to work as I would have liked......
Add to that, those stupid box panels take forever to do. You'd think it would be finished in an hour.............

Funny you should ask as I was going to start a thread about software.
I used to use Lightwave for modeling, but frankly LW's modeler is old and busted. I switched to Modo about 18 months ago, and have not looked back once.
I model MUCH faster now using Modo largely because the workflow just doesn't slow me down.

Well only a tiny upgrade. I didn't get a lot done yesterday or Sunday, but I did manage to kick out a couple of small items.
Probably won;'t see much in the way of major updates until next weekend.

I almost considered not posting an update on this for a couple of reasons. Largely because I got some improved reference material which is going to mean a lot of extra work to tweak. Fortunately I will not be losing much of anything I have already done, But some of the details are going to end up being over the top insane.
I'm going to redo most of the paneling next weekend.
Anyway, this is my weekend update.......

With the speed at which you model I think you're tweaking won't take too long

Would you believe I think I model slow?
But thanks for the compliment. Next weekend should be a killer update.

A personal matter has pretty much killed my free time.
Unfortunately my progress is likely to slow down as my free time is being spent stressingout over my wife's health, which apparently is not too good right now.
2 MRI's this week, and she is suffering numbness and tingling pains in her legs, torso and side of her head. Doctors are trying to figure out why.
Basically this is me having tried to nit pick those grebes on top of the "canopy". And a bit of panel reworking.
