New Orlean's Warpcore
Well, I've been on this interior modeling kick, so I thought my next project would be to do a warp core. I had intented to do a TNG style core at first, but when I started into it, I didn't like how it was going, so I switched it around and started to model a Voy style core. Well, of course I didn't want it to be just a run of the middle core, so I started to add a few things here and there and changed a part here and there on it to make it slighty different. Anywise here it is, the warp core all by itself:

I'm considering this done, but would love some helpful hints on the texturing work, since I'm ok with it, but it's not stunning, which is what I'm aimming for....

I think the core is perfect as it is. Your extra detail will come when you actually place it in a set with consoles, etc. The core itself doesn't really have much room for detailing.

And I still like it. But I want to see it's home...

I'm working on it! LoL Still roughing out the general layout for the Enginnering Room....I don't want it to be the same boring squard room with a half circle at one end that holds the Core....kind of what to be different

I like it, I really like it. The only thing I would say is that it looks like the Voyager core and I would relate it to that era where as the New Orleans is much older. Now, after renewing my Geek card. Good work.

On the flipside, the Voyager core looks like the one used in the Enterprise from TMP, so... :-)
I really like the intermix pattern, but the surfaces look a little to shiny... This might just be lighting, but perhaps a little roughness added to the texture?

I dunno, I think the new orleans would have a more galaxy-ish coil type fore, skinny like that though, but even though IMHO that don't look right for a new orleans, it's a great core model.
