Default Character design for a new project I'm working on

Elaine Wood is a talk show host in San Diego, California, who "syndicates" her show on all six of the cable providers there. This is a character design for the new animated title sequence I'm doing for her (commercial project):

Painting was done by hand in Painter 8 in about six hours (I'm not a very fast hand renderer yet - I know six hours is too long to have spent on this).

As long as it's good, it doesn't matter if you take forever. Oh wait, in a commercial context it might, but nevertheless, it's pretty good.

Default Thanks

I've come to realize that being good at 3D isn't worth very much if you don't have the 2D skills to back it up - that's why I've been pushing up my hand rendering so much lately.

Aye, that's true. It helps a lot to be able to draw what you want to do in some way, even if its just a scribble.

Default Actually, I'm glad it came out as good as this

I'm to the point where I know exactly where the problems are, but I'm not good enough to fix 'em. Yet. But this is the first time I've ever drawn cloth that looked even remotely like cloth. What clicked for me was when I read the tutorials at http://www.polykarbon.com. This guy's work absolutely rocks, and he's got a ton of tutorials that show exactly how he does what he does. He should probably write a book. His description of folds in cloth was the only one that's ever made sense to me, and I finally 'got it' after reading his tutorial.

Ohh, I've been to polykarbon too. That guy is pretty amazing.
